I remember agreeing with the consensus, that whichever fight did more PPV buys, Pacquiao/Cotto or Mayweather/Mosley, it would show who the bigger draw was. Pacquiao/Cotto did 1.6m and Mayweather/Mosley seems to have done 1.2. Even though Pacquiao's numbers against Clottey were just 'good', you have to consider the lack of promotion for the fight. Even on ESB, there were barely any threads until a week before the fight, which is very unusual for a top star. Despite this, the fight sold 50,000 tickets and the PPV numbers were better than expected, considering who Pacquiao was fighting and the lack of promotion. I really don't think that fight is relevant, honestly, but I do think Mosley and Cotto are similar draws and that is the clear difference. Both fights had the same promotion yet Pacquiao did 4-500,000 more PPV buys. There's no doubt in my mind, that Pacquiao is the biggest draw in boxing. If Mayweather does demand anything more than 50/50, he is deluded. He probably doesn't deserve that, either, considering what Pacquiao does outside of America. In Mayweather's own country, he's the lesser draw and there's no doubt that globally, he doesn't come close to Pacquiao.

If it changes, my stance will change. If Mayweather/Mosley does more than 1.6m, I'll change the thread but it is looking like they are the real numbers so far. We'll see though. I don't even think 1.2 is a bad number, either. It's good enough for boxing.
Cotto is/was a bigger draw than Mosley. He has Puerto Rico behind him and the city of New York. If u truly want to compare figures then u should do it by comparing the numbers they did when they fought the same opponent.
Where are you getting that from? That was Arum's optimistic estimate which was repeated enthusiastically in forums and the Phillipine media, but the reputable sources all have it at 1.25 million.

About these PPV numbers... Does anyone take in account the prices of these PPV views? I guess you better have 600.000 buys at $50 then 1.2M at $20. It will be more fair to post the numbers in combination with the earnings.
That is a very good point. The only problem is can we not assume that those who bought at say $50 will not buy it if it was $60? I say it is safe to assume for a small price difference it wouldn't matter.
All Floyd has to do is out do PAc in their last two ppv's combined, and PAc can't dictate shite as Floyd has continued to blow PAc's ppv #'s away! Floyd's ppv #'s in the past shite on PAc's. 50-50 is out of the question.
