    Agreed.

Cotto-Mosley: Cotto of on the A-Side of the promotion and the fight was on PPV.

Cotto-Margarito: Cotto was on the A-Side of the promotion and the fight was on PPV.

Margarito-Mosley: Mosley was on the B-Side of the promotion and the fight was on HBO.

BUt you have to understand that SHane was given LITTLE chance at beating Marg at the time and to push a fight that was seemingly a mis-match wouldn't have gotten the financial support from the powers that be.

It's A LOT easier to sell a rivalry against PR vs MEX than a Mexicna fighter facing an American fighter where very little give him a chance to win.

After he destroyed Marg Shane's career had new life!

Also, Floyd vs Hatton did better than Pac vs Hatton, and Floyd vs DLH did way better than Pac vs DLH.

    Floyd is the greater draw.

So much so that it took him 15 months to get another fight. If Shane was a draw people might have actually wanted to fight him.

Besides that, Mosley didn't even get a PPV for the Collazo fight, which was for an interim title, or the Mayorga fight. And those were not fights he was expected to lose.

The guy just doesn't have a huge fanbase. Outside of DLH his best numbers were with Vargas, who brought the Mexican fans in. Mosley just isn't a draw on his own.

  8. If this fight does 1.1-1.2 as is rumored I think we can call them equal. Who really gives a **** anyway?

Split 50/50 and they'll both make record breaking amounts of money.

I hate to say it, but Cotto's a bigger draw than Mosley and that should be taken into account as well. I was at their fight, and that crowd was at least 80% pro-Cotto, and Cotto's recent fights have gotten higher ratings than Mosleys as well.

No. Pac is definitely a better live draw than Mayweather. No doubt about that one. But for a fight like this, that will only be about 1/4 - 1/5 of the money, if that.

Quick math - all time highest live gate in Vegas is about $17 million, according to the Nevada Athletic Commission website. If they sell 2.5 million PPVs at an average of $55 a pop, assume the cable companies take half, and that's still about $70 million right there. And that's not even counting site fees, international TV rights, etc.

Here are some FACTS for you Jack.

Cotto is a bigger draw than Mosely!

Floyd did 1 million vs Marquez who is also not a draw (see diaz/pac man fight numbers) he also did this going up against UFC!

Manny vs Cotto did 1.25 million and was a very hyped fight, that involved two stars at the time, see what Manny did against Clottey!

They are both huge stars and it is very close who is the biggest draw but I think PBF gets the decision but the way you were presenting your information shows clear bias or stupidity take your pick which one!

PBF vs Hatton did silly numbers here in the UK and did better in the states too, Pac vs Hatton didnt do anywhere near as well and Im counting this as I think after Manny beat Oscar thats when he became a big PPV attraction

It's all about pricing. I'm sure he could have sold it out easily if the ticket prices didn't START at $300.
