Willie Pep was 62-0 at one point, Is he the best ever then Floyd ?

Pep also holds victories over one of the top 5 bantamweights of all time, Manuel Ortiz and when past his prime took the title back from Saddler, one of the top 3 featherweights of all time. He went 62-0, was 134-1-1 when he faced Saddler the first time. And, he was facing good solid contenders more often than he faced bums when he was coming up. Try another argument, SVP.

 

I'm missing Chris Eubank on that list (41-0-2) right up there with Percy Jones.

 

Included in that 26 years is a 6 year retirement. So really 241 fights in 20 years. Quite the feat.

Also, I must correct that Chavez' DQ loss early in his career was reversed to a KO-win, not a NC.
I think Chavez had had over 50 wins before it was reversed.

Another fighter who had 40+ win with no losses was Jimmy Barry, who retired with a 59-0-10 record.
He also a Newspaper Decision win.

I am also sure there are more fighters who went 40+ fights without a loss.
Some of the fighters on this list are unknown.

 

I don't know a Calzague but I would consider Pep to be greater than Floyd, so far. Probably greater than this Calzague character you speak of as well.

 

Pep´s one of the greatest ever. Floyd isn´t there, yet. He may be one day but if he wants to he has a hell of work in front of him.

 

Have they started putting this kid up against decent fighters yet? I remember he was pretty ordinary when I saw some of his fights and it's suprising to me he has such a record.
