Love the fact that Floyd is now a top 30 ATG for winning a fight he was heavily favoured to win, against a man who was previously outmanouvered by Miguel Cotto.

I've got to be honest, the Floyd Mayweather hate brigade annoys the life out of me. All of you know i'm not on his bandwagon and i'm not getting carried away, and i don't think he's the best fighter ever etc etc, but some of the stuff i'm reading is laughable. I appreciate the ****ing **** out of Floyd and all other great fighters, just fighters in general even. And Mayweather is ****ing great. My posting history is testament to me not being on a bandwagon here, so i hope nobody embarrasses themselves by going down that aisle. He's a fantastic fighter, it's pathetic the bar we set for him to be called great.

But realistically he'd be heavily favoured to win against everybody around his weightclass so this statement would hold true whoever he fought. Not saying he shouldn't fight them but the criteria used here is wrong imo realistically how many fights would SRR be not be favourite in in his prime, few if any. Fact is Floyds resume is understated Mosley for me is only his 4th best win after Castillo, who is massively underrated imo, Coralles, DLH at 154. I do agree though that he does need a Pac win to reach the upper echelons of the ATG rankings but anywhere between 30-50 can be justified at the moment imo.

I think your right, and you're one of the few guys on this forum that I respect as a knowledgeable poster. Most are flat out ignorant to boxing or understanding what is a great fighter.

Some good points in there. Lets be honest, many in here are not going to give an inch to the modern fighters and nothing they do will be ever good enough. We've got all ends of the spectrum covered across the site. Many in General go silly for the present day fighters, many in here cover both eyes and then we have guys like yourself, Stone and McGrain who are pretty bang on.
