Why do i read about a Mayweather option fighting Martinez at 160. He is not going to fight him at 160. If they make it a catch weight anything above 154 for the linear middle weight title. Martinez is really a 154 fighter so he would have no problem making the fight at 155 just so the title is on the line. My point is IF and i mean IF this fight happens it will not be at 160.

Not for me, you want the middleweight title you fight at 160, simple.

160 or not at all. Oh and for the record if Mayweather did move up and defeat you can quote me these Floyd Haters on ESB will find away not to give him credit for it.

Not interested in this, Floyd has plenty to choose from in/around his Wt class.

Ahhh....But if you want the welterweight title, it's ok to fight request the Welterweight Title-Holder to come in at 145lbs. And even the only way "Team Pacquiao" would fight Mosley was if he agreed to come in at 140-142lbs. But it's definite MUST that Floyd has to tip-the-scales at 160lbs to fight Martinez for Willams. :-(

u shouldn't be allowed to call yourself a middleweight champion unless your willing to fight a guy weighing 160

Not neccessarily. Keep in mind Martinez is a 154lber. And Mayweather is the biggest fight out there for him. Why not defend against him at 155. And Pac won his title against cotto at 145. Cotto was forced to go down to 145 so its BS if the same does not count for Mayweather. Especially since Martinez is a junior middle anyway.

For **** sake, pacquaio was bang out of order for what he did and i criticized him at the time for it and still would do so for it. Cotto welterweight crown should not have been on the line in the fight.

So like i criticize pacquiao for doing so i'm saying floyd would be in the wrong if he took the middleweight title in such a way.

Any catchweight for any belt in any class is bull****. You want the belt, toe the line.

Technically anything above 154 is a middleweight. Im against a santioning body forcing a catchweight just like they did to cotto but i am not against if Mayweather fights Martinez.

If mayweather can move up to 160, or martinez down to 154, i would love to watch that fight.

it was wrong of Pac to make Cotto fight under the welter limit, same as PBF if he tries to make Martinez go under the Middleweight limit, as i said before if your not willing to fight someone weighting the maximum that the weightclass allows then you can't call yourself the champion of that weightclass, if they want to have a non-title fight at 155 thats fine

Clarification: Making the champion come in below the required weight limit in order to defend his belt is bull****.
    Good call.

I understand your point but heres what i think you are missing. Martinez is really a 154lber. So going to 155lbs is not a disadvantage to him. If Pavlik was still champion and Mayweather considered fighting him i would think Mayweather was a dick if he tried to get Pavlik down to 155lbs. Bottom line there is no unfair advantage in this case and anything above 154 is a middleweight.
