I'm not questioning you or your logic just cuz, I actually do want to know why for the sake of learning. Why wouldn't a fight be announced like 3 to 4 weeks before? If it is announced at the end of may, then july 17th, which is the supposed date, is about 3 weeks away.

Most people would not really care about this fight, just hardcore boxing fans. And these people would have found out about the fight within like 3 days, so its not really a huge financial concern, is it???

 

promoters dont think the way you think.. arum will promote all his card to the fullest no matter how big or small the card is he'll maximize his earinings.. plus gamboa is one of his gems so even if is not PPV he'll use the fight to promote gamboa even more to the general public and he'll need a lot more than three weeks.. plus remember fighters dont start training hard until they sign the contract and are 100% sure of the date of the fight.. even the ones that stay in the gym dont work as hard as they do when they know they'll be fighting soon
