For Mexico, its probably going to be Jesus Chavez. (WHOOPS, meant Julio Cesar Chavez, my bad).

For England, perhaps Lennox Lewis or Henry Cooper?

For Germany, perhaps Henry Maske or Max Schmeling.

For Japan, Fighting Harada is the one.

For the Phillipines, it has to be Elorde or Pacquiao.

For America, its easy. America is brash, in your face, arrogant and can back it up most of the time. America is admired and hated at the same time. Muhammad Ali is America.

    How about your nation?

Good pick for America.Especially poignant since our country kinda ****ed Ali over but he picked himself back up and took back his spot at the top. I would have also went with Joe Louis.

Max Schmelling is also a great pick.He had a lot of pride in his country and was a german first, even if he had to wear a Nazi uniform. Those *******s stuck him in the airborne division of the German Army after he lost to Joe when the entire time he'd been nothing more than a glamour soldier the duration of the war.

Both good picks but I´d pick Gustav "Bubi" Scholz over them. He was a great fighter, did terrible things - shot his wife accidently - and fell short of his greatest victory - Harold Johnson. He also was very disciplined, calm, always had a plan and was a southpaw.

I'm from America, but my country is such a melting pot, that it's hard to decide who is the quintessential representative of the nation. America is a vibrant mix of cultures, so one would have to break it down to sub-cultures; who embodies African American culture, Mexican American, ect...

Pacquiao represents the Philippines well. He is your typical Filipino (the person, not the boxer).

Loved by all. (except in *****land and Butthurtia)

I'm from America, so it would have to be Chad Dawson. He is the Kobe Bryant of boxing.

    Oh there's FMJ also.

    I'm only considering active boxers.

He represented the US at the olympics and hits the multi-cultural aspect an earlier poster brought up very well.

The Chad Dawson/Kobe Bryant example only sort of works i think. He'd be Kobe if Kobe was largely ignored by the mainstream. If Kobe scored well but was still only mentioned in passing on sportscenter i think.

I am a huge Laker fan and even greater boxing fan. I will tell you Dawson is not even remotely close to Kobe in their relative sports. Kobe is arguably a top 5 atg NBA player. Dawson is lucky to crack todays top 5 pfp.
