If the Kings Hall card is packed with local talent, I will be more than happy. It's good to hear Sinky, Conlon and Haughian will be on the card along with "our own wee Carl", so let's hope they can add a few other names by fight night.
For any of the lads thinking of traveling to Belfast for the event, the Kings Hall has perhaps one of the best atmospheres [assuming the place fills of course] in world boxing, but to be fair the Point is excellent also. Anyway you will be guaranteed a entertaining night in our great city.

A sample of a night in The Kings Hall.

Tell ya what mate, i was at that fight and the atmosphere was unbeleivable. Taylor himself complained about the heat in the place. It was bursting at the seams with fans. I was up the stairs roundabout where the entrance is below and i swear the collective 'ooohh' from the crowd when McGuigan hit him to the body with that sickening big right hand, was unreal. Almost felt it meself

    :good Cheers Ardy

I've never even been to Belfast but I'll be heading up for this one.
Seeing as the King's hall is referred to as something of a mecca for Irish boxing, what have been the most memorable fights there down through the years?

I went to quite a few of McGuigans fights pre-world title win at the Kings Hall and the atmosphere, as Ardy says, was electric. I always remember the Kings Hall rocking to 'Here we go - here we go - here we goooo" and "Barry! Barry! Barry!"

When Hugh Russell entered the ring for his fights on the undercard he got brilliant receptions too.

This one is legendary - Rinty always sang 'When Irish Eyes are Smiling' at the end of his fights.

Me too. Wasnt the bar located in this area - I could swear it was - although I was too young to drink at the time - I aways remember my uncle and da getting a couple of pints up there whilst I settled for a packet of Tayto crisps...
Those were the days when you could have a drink and smoke whilst watching the boxing.....

I wouldn't mind permission to get stuck into her myself :yep

Lets keep the politics out of the thread. Carlos will unite the world, that much is obvious. Apart from that its all ridonckulous.

I best be getting my tickets for June 11. How many of the brethren from here are heading?
