:scaredas: Yes, Murray won, but that's like describing World War II as "some countries had a kerfuffle". Watch the re-run at 2am! I don't care if there's a housefire, put the TV on an extension cord and take it out the window with you.
Murray's head is too stationary, he shouldn't really be getting hit with so many punches at this level if he has any ambitions of moving to the next stage. He could've made that a lot easier IMO. What is it with all these fighters dispensing with the jab? he needs to establish it much more, stop squaring up so much and learn to roll with punches on the inside. The stoppage came too late, the kid was brave, but he's young and has a lot of fights ahead of him in which he'll take more punishment, i would understand if he was coming to the end of his career, but that corner should've really thought about the effects long term. It was clear he couldn't win that fight, wasn't gonna out point him at that stage and punches weren't doing any damage. Fights like that get the life taken from you, like Clubber Lang Urango did Randell Bailey, who's done btw like Vivian Harris, time to become a walmart greeter.
Murray would do Mitchell for me, If Johanasan can have Mitchell in trouble at 130 Murray will be to much.
I think Mitchell's improved a fair bit. There was a similar logic (quite rightly at the time) that said if Mitchell went life and death with Johanesson he's going to struggle with Prescott. If Mitchell showed the smarts and boxing ability he displayed that night meshed with the 'fighter' thats in him he would give Murray plenty to think about with his speed and skill. Mitchell isn't a guy thats going to fall over easily and he's got more natural ability.
Some of the undercard fights were brilliant too. the mo khalid-ward fight was quite good, as was the prince aaron - maxwell bout. It was a great atmosphere in there tonight. Murray was class but the highlight of the night was meeting mickey off shameless lol
I think it was the end of the 7th when Hatton walked over to the corner and had a word. he was shaking his head at the time. So perhaps, with him being buckland's promoter he was to blame?
How can you say Pryce would have beaten him? He was totally dominated, and Arrons fitness is far superior.
Murray versus Buckland, great fight, pure class. Both can hold their heads high. I'm a fan of both from now on.
