I have respect and admiration for anyone who gets in a Boxing ring, but Gavin is about as ugly and undesirably as it gets...and I'm not talking about his looks.
Addie, is a right ****. He isnt patriotic in the slightest, some of us are pretty patriotic and hes wanting to wind us up.
Shut up you little fanny. What the **** have you got to be patriotic about ? Your National Dish is mixture of crap boiled in a stomach Your National Instrument is a bag of wind Your National Uniform is a dress Your National Flower is a weed !!!!! Get off my forum fanny !
If you have issues with the 'talent pool in this country' why not make that the focal point of the thread? Rather than begin with a needlessly vague & intentionally provocative statement in which your complaint completely differs to your later criticisms of British fighters (that they seem to lack all round qualities). What could've been a valid point, has been undermined by your breathtaking arrogance; why not title the thread: 'why does Britain produce so few world-class fighters' (or something equally prosaic to that effect), rather than the 'This is the truth' title which you settled on. You know very well that what you have detailed is merely an opinion, but no, you thought you'd bring that dickish gf manner to the British forum, and enlighten us with 'the truth'. Why do you think that might be? Football, cricket, rugby union, rugby league, tennis, snooker, formula 1 ... all dwarf boxing in terms of popularity. Boxing is a minority sport, which unlike the above mentioned sport lacks regular coverage on terrestrial television. Hopefully ITV will stay involved beyond Khan-Malignaggi but given their recent form i'm highly sceptical. The BBC have recently announced that they won't even be broadcasting the ABA finals this year (although that come as no surprise seeing as Setanta showed last years finals). Hatton promotions will be broadcasting online ffs. And just as the Americans on this forum are ever trying to explain away their recent heavyweight malaise on the fact that their best athletes are currently plying their trade in the NFL, the same arguments can be made for Britain. The numbers we have do draw on aren't great; for that reason i'd say we actually punch well above our weight. What other European nation has produced as many world class fighters as Britain? There aren't any. I thought you seldom 'enjoy watching' British fighters. Backtrack much? If this is the case what's the point of this thread? Why not figure out what it is you're trying to get at, and then come back to us. As stated before, Britain has both historically and in the more recent past produced a far greater number of world class fighters than any other European nation. Yes, we lag behind the states, Mexico, Puerto Rico & Japan but you have to look at why that is. Boxing is not a fundamental part of the culture as it is in some of the South American countries. It's as simple as that. The overwhelming majority of folk in this country don't give a ****. Why not ask why Japan don't produce any fighters over super-bantam? Or why Mexico don't produce any decent heavies? Because you know the answers to both questions.
Surely that makes them compelling viewing? You've change your argument from not wanting to watch them to thinking they're not complete fighters.
its all the fault of the english amateur idiots, they train like robots to fight like robots, they only score for robotic strait punches though having said that if your one of their favorits you can fight how you want get the **** beat out of yer and still win, and its getting worse.they mould them into un exciting fighters from a young age, springing around like kangaroos punching with there finger tips.
