If you look at someone like Scott Harrison he was fighting for the WBO title in his 19th fight and that record had a loss and draw in it, and he did fight some solid world class fighters, yet people used to rave about Hatton fighting nobodies while Harrison was fighting in good company. I agree Hatton was held back for too long, I wonder if he would have done much more if let off the leash sooner Tsyzu was his 39th fight and hes only had 8 since, I guess he would have beaten/fought some other world class fighters, like maybe S Mitchell, M Cotto, D Corley etc
Good point Hatton and Mitchell had an awful lot of fights before they got proper elite level opponents . Even if your fighting a lower standard of fighter your still getting hit and thats going to take its toll over time . Look at John Murray last night against Buckland . Did Murray learn anything new or have to make any improvements no he was just treading water . And even though he was the big puncher i'm sure it was still a tough ten rounds for him and he'll be hurting today .
The problem is if he does that he'll have to fight more average fighters just to get too the level he's at now
Maybe it should cross your mind that Limmond is very good hence the reason hes never had a British title shot since losing to Khan
to be fair to scott harrison the loss was to miguel mathews who basically stuck the head on scott and the draw was a total farce in france were scott punched the boy from pillar to post and got a draw
Billy Is Dave Parris the man in the middle for Mitchell v Katsidis...:think Good luck next weekend...:good
I know he isnt British but I have a lot of sympathy for Yuri Romanov who isnt so much on the shelf as locked in the attic! Plus Choi or course!
Alex Arthur got demolished by Michael Gomez, I don't think he got left on the shelf too long. He seemed to do a lot of ****ing around after that loss and was never anywhere near as good as he was made out to be.
I agree, I realised that just noted his record, and said how he was fighting in world class at a good time in his career. He was a fighter who could be moved at a good pace
