After Benn-Eubank II Warren stated that Barry Hearn "didn't play the game" after Hearn pointed out to Don King that the draw was never in the contract which freed up both fighters, which also suited Eubank. It was widely expected and said that Eubank and Benn would be involved in the Showtime elimination at super-middle involving Nunn, Terry Norris, Julian Jackson, Reggie Johnson, Jones Jr, McClellan, and Chris Pyatt. There were press conferences in New York with a podium consisting of Nunn, Benn, Norris, McClellan, Johnson, Jackson, Eubank and Pyatt, and Jones Jr in attendance too. The WBO belt was quite irrelevant in America, as shown by Eubank's backseat position on the podium (Benn was at the front)! And Benn-Eubank II was supposed to be for Benn's WBC title only, at the last minute Chris's WBO one was put on the line too (don't know the politics behind that). So, basically, Eubank didn't go along with what was expected, and Hearn, who was controlled by Eubank, didn't have the bottle to force Eubank into it. Eubank was his major money cow and he bottled it. If I remember rightly, after Benn-Eubank II and it's draw verdict, King wanted Eubank to fight Reggie Johnson on American soil to introduce him to the American public. Hearn had the power to force Chris into it, with Eubank under contract to him, but didn't... Warren was brought in on Benn's part for Benn-Eubank II and we all know he dislikes his rivals. Benn left Hearn completely for King and Warren, straight after the fight. Eubank and Hearn embarked on their German and SKY adventures.
Also, Titian was a painter. Did he box with his family, or is this in reference to him beating up his wife?
Damn i had no idea about all of this, it would have been epic and blown the super six out of the water. Got any links for this? Imagine all of these guys at the same press conference. Jsut seeing James Toney talking **** to Benn and Eubank on that tv show, and Michael Nunn being at ringside had me marked!

McClellan was going to fight Chris Pyatt in Britain, the winner of that would fight Julian Jackson and then the winner of that would fight the unified super-middleweight (out of Eubank, Nunn, Benn, or Terry Norris or Reggie Johnson) or Roy Jones by the end of '94, then the others would be fighting on the undercards to come again until there were a clear two if poss. Others in attendance were Julio Cesar Vasquez and Gianfranco Rosi (and Roy Jones Jr).
I thought it would be Eubank-Nunn personally, Benn fighting Reggie Johnson on undercard. Then Nunn-Benn, Eubank-Julian Jackson (WBO 168 ), Johnson-Pyatt (WBA 160). Then ultimately Nunn-Norris, McClellan-Jones Jr maybe. Eubank-Benn III in Britain. Nunn-Jones Jr. Jones Jr-Eubank? Jones Jr-Toney... If only Benn was truly robbed at OT eh and actually lost!
