If ANDERSON SILVA vs SHOGUN RUA doesn't happen next, the UFC should just end.

Sorry to Chael Sonnen, but Anderson Silva has already proved that he can dominate the best middleweights without even giving his full effort, a Silva vs Sonnen fight would be yet another dull and pointless encounter which would lead to the crowd booing, Anderson getting bored and acting like an *******, and no-one emerging from that fight with any credit or pleasure.

Anderson looked better against Forrest Griffin at light-heavyweight than he has at middleweight for a long time, and I attribute this to Anderson burning off more weight than he needs to when he fights at mw. If you look at his height and reach, Anderson is a huge guy. Yes, he is able to make middleweight, but that doesn't mean that middleweight is his optimum fighting weight. If he doesn't have to bother about burning weight and simply allows himself to reach maximum natural strength and health, he would be a light-heavyweight, and I'm sure we would all rather see a fit and happy Anderson at 205 rather than a big, complacent Anderson at 185.

And now that Shogun has KNOCKED OUT LYOTO MACHIDA IN ONE ROUND (which I genuinely did not expect!!!), the only real fight out there for both Anderson and Shogun is each other.

Two of the greatest strikers in MMA history going toe-to-toe. Has there EVER been a greater fight in MMA history than this??!

Who would you pick in this one?! I think I'd have to go with Shogun, he looks to me like someone who boils down to 205 but then rehydrates to well above that by fight time. That extra weight and strength would give him a slight advantage over Silva IMO.

Please post responses to what I've said :bbb

I have high hopes for Sonnen. Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm looking forward to it. But of course I'd like to Rua-Silva. Who wouldn't.

I think Silva can knock him out.

I'd like to see Sonen get his chance to fight Silva - but I would love to see a Silva/Rua fight.

After Williams - Cintron tonight it probably gained another 10,000 fans, why would it end!!

But I agree that this fight has to happen.

They should do Silva vs GSP at 185 next while the winner of Shogun vs Rampage/Evans is decided.

Then if Silva beats GSP he should get an immediate title shot at 205.

Instead we get GSP wasting his time as a coach on TUF then a pointless fight with a guy who just bored everyone to death and who he's already easily beaten, and Silva fighting Sonnen who has next to no chance.

Nobody cares about Silva vs anyone at 185 other than GSP and maybe the mental midget Belfort, and noone gives a rats ass about GSP and Kos being coaches on TUF and fighting for a second time. Noone gives a rats ass about GSP fighting anyone at 170.

Fck silva and his clowning style lately. I rather see the winner of rampage-evans fight shogun next. Rampage vs Shogun 2 would be fun to watch.

Silva would run from Shogun for 3-4 of the rounds, shogun UD.

I've lost all respect for the man.

yea style wise this fight would be awesome. I like rampage as well and i know he struggles against muay thai fighter but i think he is better now than when he first fought rua in pride.

I was hoping for Belfort-Silva as its a dream match of mine but thinking of it Vitor can be a bit tenative and this fight could wind up sucking. Silva vs Shogun is the best fight in MMA right now it would be a HUGE fight.

Shogun would destroy Rampages legs and knee him into oblivion.

When did Silva beat, or even fight, a wrestler of Chaels quality?

Henderson was basically fighting as a slugger against Silva, so he doesn't count. Chael will bring something Anderson has never seen before, and is definitely way better at one aspect of the game. Shogun isn't. Chael is, if anything, a more interesting matchup stylistically.

I luv rampage. But now Rua has that spark in his eyes again I see the fight going the same way as it did when they last fought. Rua by brutal kockout.
