I'd pick Jones to decisively stop Hearns at 160 if they ever met, too, not that that's of massive relevance.

Hearns would desroy him at any weight, his reflexes would'nt help him in this match, those things he got away with other fighters would'nt fly against Hearns the 160 version that fought Shuler would knock that clown out of the ring.

They're very closely ranked on my list.

Off the top of my head, Hearns is about no.41 and Roy about no.45 (I think)

It is not even close in my eyes. Hearns fought the very best of his generation whilst Jones Jr had easy time against poor quality opponent.
Hearns win over Duran is worth all of Jones career.

Hearns is an ATG Top 20. Jones Top 50.

The man got skills. He is up there with the best in term of pure boxing ability. His accomplishments just are not enough to be wrote along a Tommy Hearns.
I was probably to hard on top 50 though, maybe top 40.

88 is an unforgivable and ******ed rating. I have Hearns no lower than 25.

Twenty seconds he misses a lead hook an gets tagged with a short left.

Hearns might have put him away.

Yes, he had subpar opposition but he was very dominant, was at the top for a very long time and going from mw to hw, winning belts, without beeing defeated "unaided" is quite an accompllishment. And he has some good wins. Toney, Ruiz, Tarver, Hill, Hopkins, Griffith, McCallum. His resume is inferior to Hearns but Hearns lost in his prime. Jones did not. And thus resume-wise it´s closer on second than on first glance. And when you factor in accomplishments and dominance Jones edges Hearns. Not by much though.

Well, Hearns is better than the guy there. I don´t think a fight between them would look anything like that.
