U mean the weight drained, mentally unstable Corrales that was going to jail?

U mean the Castillo whom clearly beat Mayweather in their first fight? And also already been KO'd 4x prior?

U mean the Judah that just lost to Baldomir, lost to Spinks and did the chicken dance vs Tszyu? Also knocked Floyd down with a weak punch that wuldnt even hurt Khan?

U mean the old past prime Oscar that already lost all of his big fights and whom Floyd could only win a SD?

U mean the Hatton whom only fought at 147 once, was clearly blown up and it was obvious that he never belonged in the WW division?

U mean the 39 yr old Mosley, with a 15 month layoff, looked horrible against Mayorga and only won against a mentally screwed up, UNplastered Margarito and looked more shot than Roy Jones in his recent fight vs Hopkins?
That as Mayweather said, "Forrest ****ed you up, Winky Wright ****ed you up, Miguel Cotto ****ed you up"

    What a crybaby

he says legacy and titles dont mean anything to him but when it coms to FOTD it bothers him to the bone that he didnt win it and he regrets his 2 year layoff badly.

Mayweather's jealousy shines bright in this vid. And all his toyboys come to his defense...about 10 of them in total.

Huh? There was no controversy with that decision. It was pretty much universal, every fighter of the decade list had Pac the very top. Mayweather just didn't do enough.

While Pac was racking off historical wins over of DLH, Hatton and Cotto to finish off the decade with a storm, Mayweather had retired late in the decade and avoided some tough fights fans were calling for with Cotto, Margarito, Mosley. He then chose to make his comeback against an outmatched lightweight in Marquez, not even bothering to make weight for it making it even more of a mismatch.

And he expects to just be handed fighter of decade having taken the path of least resistance? Gimme a break

  7. No. He "beat" him once faster, and it was a DQ. The other fight was a 12 round decision.
Pacquiao won both fights. The first was incorrectly scored a draw by an incompetent judge. Most people don't think Marquez won x2 fyi.
The only fight Morales was EVER dominated was the 3rd fight w/ Pacquiao.
Pacquiao fought him at his best weight and performed far better than Floyd did.
Cotto and his strength and conditioning coach both said the catchweight was a non-issue, and we'll never truly know if he was actually ruined by Margarito. He dominated an unworthy opponent and performed about as well as anybody ever did against Clottey despite fighting most of the fight with 1 eye. If Cotto looks poor in the future, was he ruined by Margarito or Pacquiao?

But Pacquiao fought at their weights, instead of making them come up 2-3 weight classes and then not even making weight anyway.

Two can play this game.

Anyone here disagree with the Fighter of the Decade? Take it up with these guys. I guess you know more about boxing than these guys, right?

In its March 2010 issue, Pacquiao was listed on top ahead of Floyd Mayweather, Bernard Hopkins, Joe Calzaghe, Juan Manuel Marquez, Winky Wright, Shane Mosley, Marco Antonio Barrera, Rafael Marquez, and Israel Vazquez.
Eric Raskin, The Ring’s contributing editor, wrote that “as far as we’re concerned, Manny Pacquiao is the only choice for number one.”
“In terms of quality of opposition and success across a broad spectrum of weights, nobody else comes close,” wrote Raskin, noting that in the division rankings,
Pacquiao rated No. 2 at super-bantamweight (122 lbs) and feather (126), first at super-feather (130), fourth at super-lightweight (140), and third at welter (147).
The mere fact that Pacquiao was even voted Fighter of the Year thrice (2006, 2008 and 2009) by The Ring and was 23-1-2 in the 00s, is more than enough to name him as the recipient of the accolade.
“And to name anybody else Fighter of the Decade would be unfathomable,” said Raskin.
Pacquiao’s biggest wins during the decade were those over Barrera (twice), Erik Morales (twice), Juan Manuel Marquez, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, and Miguel Cotto.
Pacquiao is revving up for a March 13 defense of his WBO welterweight crown against Joshua Clottey of Ghana at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

    BWAA AWARDS

    This content is protected
If there were any doubt that

is the biggest star of his sport, it was put to rest by members of the Boxing Writers Association of America. By an overwhelming margin, Pacquiao took home not only the BWAA's newly named "Sugar Ray Robinson Fighter of the Year" award, but went one better by also winning

honors. For Pacquiao, it was his third BWAA "Fighter of the Year" award, tying him with Muhammad Ali and Evander Holyfield for the most in the history of the organization.

It's Floyd's fault he wasn't named fighter of the decade... he shouldn't had taken a break from boxing for 2 years. Within that time he could've fought Shane, Williams, and someone else. Hell he could've just fought a few light touches with one major guy and he would've got it. Him retiring made him lose the spot while manny was consistently beating people like no other. Floyd shouldve been fighter of decade, but he can only blame himself for not getting that spot.

Yeah but those guys were all the hand picked easy opponents. He needed to fight all those guys he dodged. Larry Merchant who is senile and drunk, and the most decorated and qualified hater of the the last decade said so.

Yeah, for a guy who says that he's fighting for money and not for legacy, he sure does care where people place him on that list. Sorry, Floyd, but Pac was the best of the decade

There's still hope for Floyd winning Fighter of the Decade. Manny Pacquiao is Fighter of the Decade for 2000-2009. Floyd can try again for 2010-2019. :yep

The boxing writers as whole, collectively know ****. If they disappeared tomorrow no one but their families would notice and the sport would march on like nothing happened. Most of those guys are lucky to make 10,000 a year writing about boxing and would vote Mickey Mouse fighter of the decade for $500 and a hand job in the champagne room. Sports bettors put their money where their mouth is and Floyd will be close to a 2 to 1 favorite by the time the fight comes off.

I dont understand why u guys get upset at mayweather for his reaction, its called competitive spirit.
u guys rip hom for caring nothng about boxig and only being in it for the money yet this title he fells was robbed from him doesn't have a price tag so y would he care if pacquiao got it if he only cares about money. this video shows that he does care about his legacy and in my opinion i believe that he should have won fighter of the year and that his uncle roger should have at least once been awarded trainer of the year
