I don't know how bad it is. I know Kermit never took any. He was just a phenomenal athlete. I do know that for every guy out there working on the system there are 10 guys trying to beat it. I have never drank, smoked, or used a drug of any kind in my life. i am st8 edge. I think the possibility is there that paq has used something. Most likely ifg-1 or HGH. Both of which are very very hard to test for. For training it would help you recover faster, and allow you to train at a higher intensity for a longer period of time. It also makes you more prone to injuries. muscle tears, and tendon injuries. Some drugs are very fast acting and might help on fight night.
I'm not questioning his investment at all. I don't doubt that or that Joe is who he says he is. I'm just asking questions, man. Trainers, conditioning coaches and managers get screwed in this business more than most anyone. That's a fact, Take a four round blue chip prospect. Say A firm like Top Rank has him. Maybe he's making a grand a round for four rounders. The tariner gets what? Ten percent of that? And yet he is the one in the gym making this cat work. He's the shrink, the guy who feeds this cat most likely. Oft times he houses the fighter. They are the ones there 24/7. Maybe it isn't always a monetary investment but it's 100% of the time an emotional and time investment. Then a fighter leaves if he gets a measure of success, a talkative girlfriend or entourage, etc. That this is an old story told over and over again there is no doubt. You guys are putting way too much on my initial questions which have still not been answered.
Gabriel, your article tries to portray Kermit as taking charge in the fourth; all the contrary to what was hapenning. Williams got stunned by the right; but Kermit got just as stunned by the multiple lefts, and you could see him getting concerned. The truth is Williams was beginning to take charge right before the incident, and this was confirmed by the commentators.
Sorry to hear you have had similar experiences. I also appreciate the words of encouragement. between Cintron and Rahman I have had my fill with fighters. I started a corporation with some friends called Awesome Enterprises Inc. we have two websites we are launching, and have some property investments. Maybe one day when the money is right, and I can do things on only my terms I might give boxing a try again. You never know.
Ur right . My mistake. For some reason I thought of the Matthysse fight with Williams as a distance fight. Rather it went much longer and was more difficult than Kermit's time with him. Sorry, not a boxrec guy when I argue. My aging memory is showing:smoke You seem to not give Kermit any credit in the Williams fight. Everyone else I know and talked to who was there disagrees he wasn't putting Williams to the test.
Gabe what questions didnt I answer? I think it's your turn to reply to me. I sent you the last reply.
LOL. No problem. Please. Continue to give us ****. It keeps us honest. If we're allowed to criticize, we should be held to that same standard. And thanks, man. Comments like that make me work harder. Much appreciated.
So the **** what he has won a world title you have done nothing so STFU with your steroid using ass.....
See my first post it's all there. Like the links you requested, I'm not going to do your work for you. I have too much research to do on my own to find all the links to every Cintron article I have ever done. All that stuff is in a whole other computer and covers I believe, at least 4 years time? Not being a d#ck I'm just talking to you here while on deadline for my Monday column. Again, Joe. I'm not attacking you. I love the internet for precisely this reason. That we can meet here and discuss. I'd like to think we are both being civil here. Nothing here will go in my columns or stories. We're two guys who work in the industry talking.
you see- thats what i love about you and Steve Kim as opposed to the older journos. you guys make yourselves accessible to the grassroots fans, cos you are fans. thats what makes maxboxing great. its a true fans site, like this one. i hope you ll continue to post here- its so much better for the sport to have credible posters post- like yourself and conditioner, much of our discussion here gets misplaced and heated- but i hope you guys ll spend more time. having the opportunity to speak to people with a voice- that can entend our opinions to the powers that be can only be a good thing. i like the fact that the fans have been speaking louder lately, with regards to drug testing opinions, the weak undercard problem , etc, etc. and thats because of guys like you- so keep it up. ive been a max box subscriber for 7 years and here for 6 - so its good to see the boxing world come together like this , real boxing people talking real boxing.
see this is the problem with coming on a board like this for you guys. gotta have a pretty good filter for this kind of ****.
