I don't think the fighters themselves really care who they fight as long as they get the $, but their camps generally have the most say. Pacquiao's team has definitely chose the path of least resistance, but that's what you get in a business. The boxing business isn't ran like the Olympics, it isn't about the best, it's about the most popular. If it was about the best, the winner would make the $, not the name. We fans all like to complain about cherry picking, but then we go on about negotiations about who should get more $ based on events. We support the system to allow cherry picking to happen. Even though I HATE Pac's and May's teams for promoting them they way they did instead of proving their mettle, I do think they are the best out there and definitely earned their money the hard way, considering where they both came from.
The Mayweathers and Maglinaggi are not the only ones in the boxing industry that thinks Paquiao is on something. Kermit Cintrons former manager/trainer- I think the possibility is there that paq has used something. Most likely ifg-1 or HGH. Both of which are very very hard to test for. For training it would help you recover faster, and allow you to train at a higher intensity for a longer period of time. It also makes you more prone to injuries. muscle tears, and tendon injuries. Some drugs are very fast acting and might help on fight night.
lol, Floyd fans are getting desperate as it looks more likely their hero will never fight Pac. The only way for Mayweather to surpass Pac is in the ring. **** if any resume can be picked apart and trashed, it's Mayweather's (weight drained Corrales.. lost to Castillo.. Judah lost to Baldobum.. DLH was old rusty and still won on 1 judge's card.. Hatton was garbage at welter.. Marquez was an overblown lighweight, Floyd still came in 2 lbs over.. Mosley was 38, looked different without EPO )
First best actually, considering the fact that Mayweather was the welterweight who wouldn't fight welterweights. Mosley was being ducked by both Pac and PBF,
A comment like that shows you're just a ****ing idiot, a hater, and don't have a ****ing clue about boxing. Corrales won the title at 130 pounds 3 YEARS AFTER he fought Mayweather you ****ING MORON. atsch We can pretty much discount everything else you said from that point on because it is pretty clear YOU ARE FULL OF **** YOU CLOWN. :rofl
I told myself I wouldn't be pulled into this muck throwing contest, so I have to stick to my word. :bart:hand
Corrales was 168 just weeks before the fight and weighed in 2lbs over and had to sweat it off. Next time don't just look up boxrec and get the facts straight. Anyway, that's not my opinion, I think it was an awesome display by Mayweather and he would've destroyed any Corrales. I'm just saying any resume can be picked apart, and Mayweather fans degrading Pac's victories is laughable.
Again... the man you claimed as "weight drained" won a title at that same weight 3 YEARS LATER!!! atsch You can get into this, that, and the other thing, but fact is fact and Corrales was making 130 pounds for years after his fight with Mayweather. If Corrales was having issues in camp, that is of his own making like Mike Tyson, Zab Judah, and many other fighters who are not strong mentally. That has nothing to do with Mayweather, or Corrales' ability to make 130 pounds. It wasn't his body that couldn't make the weight, it was his mind/discipline obviously as he made weight on several occasions afterward. If he under-trained, say he under-trained. Don't say he was "weight drained" when the man won a title at the weight 3 years later. That is just pure bull**** and makes you look like a *******. Not saying you are, but that is a typical ******* argument when it comes to Mayweather vs Corrales..
Corrales was definitely the top name, but he wasn't all that skilled. He was a tall fighter with dangerous short distance power. Almost everyone would walk towards him so he looked good. However he didn't know how to corner anyone and didn't know how to use his range. His whole skillset relied on fighters coming at him. Even though Mayweather was the underdog, everyone should have known he was going to whoop the over-rated Corrales. Corrales however was definitely weightdrained and that helped with the KD's. More than anything I am dissatisfied with Mayweather's lack of fighting the best at the weight at that time: Freitas and Casamayor.
Great vid and I never saw the Arum set ups for Pac while Floyd took the avoided tough Moseley. Smoebody said Shane was more washed up then Cotto please Cotto took a huge beating vs Margo then Clottey beat him up. Moseley was on a KO mean streak and avoided great 1st 2 rounds vs Floyd bouncing on his toes moving the whole 12 rounds came on a little in round 12 just mentally and stylistically out gunned. Not shot.
Try telling that to Maorga and Margarito who he stopped late. I'm tired of Manny manipulating the weights and hand picking he needs to fight the p4p 1 Floyd
