thanks:good either way we agree: jimmy is a negative spoiler who didn't have what it took to beat tyson on points
Are n't some of us getting mixed up with the PRIME Tyson here ? The subject of this thread is the 1996 version. Was no longer the same fighter.
Actually you're right...and in that case I would give Young a bit better of a chance...but as Jorodz and I have been saying..Young, although I admire him greatly, may not have been as dynamic as he should have been offensively to completely be able to capitalize on an easily frustrated Tyson...it's possible that he could have..I give him a 75% chance of accomplishing that..or else he would have been robbed, as in the Ali and Norton fights by judges too biased against his style..but I will say...to give my props to Young, that he would have at least escaped the fate of a ko defeat, or even being off his feet even against a PEAK Tyson, never mind the version of Tyson being discussed here...such was Jimmy's masterful gift of negative defensive prowess.
Frankly, even against this version of Tyson, I don't give Young much of a chance. Mike's style is all wrong for Jimmy. Jimmy could have some moments to frustrate Mike at times, but wouldn't be able to really deliver anything to hold Mike off for long. Mike would not get discouraged and would just keep coming. Tyson would catch up to Young at some point and stop him...in my opinion.
