Jeff 'FLASH" Malcolm

I first saw Cleverly on the Calzaghe vs Kessler undercard and he looked the goods - he was a fairly skinny looking kid back then but from what I've seen lately he's starting to fill out a fair bit and is a fairly imposing LHW nowadays.

One to look out for.

 

He was just helping Joe out lol , it was great to see an old school fighter like Joe sparring for world title fights and using local kids in his prep , Enzo's gym is closed now and Nath is being trained over Blackwood way by his own father preparing for a European title defence and elimination fight for the WBO L/Heavy title .

Yea Nath has started to fill out and about to get his Maths degree from Cardiff Uni , this will free his time up hopefully and he can concentrate on his boxing career for a few years , I've high hopes for him but i ani't getting carried away just yet , European and Commonwealth titles have been achived but he needs a few more before a proper title shot , that's the difference between hemispheres mate , to get anywhere here you need to eliminate all in Europe first down under it seems you just win a few against the slopes and World title shots await .

Cleverly seems to have his head screwed on right, good on him. Didn't know Enzo had closed his doors? What happened to Joe getting into the training side of things? I know he's been enjoying life of late (according to all those Daily Mail and NOTW articles ), but last I heard he was interested in promoting/managing at the very least?

Yep, the Northern hemisphere has a more consistent and thorough process to reach a world title shot I think, you're right about Australians getting world title shots so easily, which is probably why not many succeed at world level.

Ps i think Joe realised just how hard Frank Warrens job was and gave the promoting up .

Cedrichw..... Choc is currently training a couple of days a week at his dads gym. He sparred today. Just clocking over until a decision is made.

 

I thought I saw his car there about 1pm but I had other things to do I will keep a check and see if i get lucky
