Mosley throws straighter punches. He's not faster, but that was a pretty sloppy punch for a pro. He dipped his shoulder, he wound up and he threw a wide shot. Only a palooka like Hatton would be hit with a hayemaker like that.

The question should'nt be "Would Floyd survive a shot like this?" It should be more along the lines of "Can Pac catch Floyd w/a shot like that?" The ans.... Hell to the NO!!!! Just look at that clip, you'll never find Floyd in that position throwing that bull**** ass weak jab Hatton was throwing. Hatton basically threw himself into the punch w/his sloppy footwork, then throw in the fact that he has no defense what so ever and it a recipe for disaster! Hatton always bulled in but he tended to hop in and both his feet would almost be off the ground at times giving him no balance, an exposed chin and no power!! Floyd is the total opposite, he has a real jab, the best defense in the game, the best footwork and co-ordination not to mention the highest ring IQ & intellegence!! Conclusion... the **** just aint gonna happen!!

That shot on Hatton was a thing of beauty & brutality wrapped in oned but I was more amazed at Hatton for his lack of anything that would reminence defense & smarts!! Only a clumsy **** like Hatton could be caught in that position that's why it's a once in a lifetime shot!!

Pac isn't really there to be hit. It's boxing....you sometimes get hit. And With Floyd being as defensively sound as he is.....he still gets hit. Manny's style is one where he'll get hit more b/c he opens up more.....he's more aggressive so it's natrual he'll eat more leather.

But he's NOT EASY to hit.....JMM had a hard time landing 30% of his shots.....Josh landed about the same.....Cotto less than that. The shots that they do land are typically when Manny baits them in and allows his opponent to open up so Manny can counter or find openings.

Floyd will land on Manny and it's gonna be interesting to see how Manny can handle that. I'm sure he'll take it well...he's taken some heavy shots at WW from guys who have better power.

BUt Floyd is gonna have to answer questions in facing Manny he's never had to answer before. Manny's aggressive style and southpaw stance is gonna be a problem whether you care to admit it or not.

The big question is WHO'S STYLE is gonna be more of a problem for each other? B/c BOTH are operating at the sports highest levels...BOTH are athletically gifted and superb talents.....and BOTH are champions and considered P4P best in this era.

It's not gonna be an easy fight for either man gents........there's gonna be a winner but no one knows for sure.

And???.......most rather see Floyd vs Manny. Shane vs Manny would have been great but like his fight with Floyd...he'd be the major underdog for good reason and Manny most likely would have won in dominating fashion as well....just in a more brutal way.....Floyd schooled Shane I think Manny would bash him up real good.

It's easier to finish off a guy who runs when he's hurt rather one that holds and smothers you. Cotto retreats to the ropes often making himself an easy target to tee off on.

He got caught with a much more obvious blow. The second right was an overhand right from the fences. How Floyd got hit with it is beyond me.

    I gotta disagree.

Shots to the temple make you see white and temporarily mess up your equilibrium, but typically don't seriously hurt you.

Shots like what Pac threw, his feet planted, full force, right into the chin when the other guy doesn't see it coming ****s you up bad.

Would Pac hit Mayweather with that shot....I seriously doubt it, but if he did, no doubt it's lights out.

It is worth noting also that Hatton was well within Pacquiao's punching range. Floyd is always attentive to the space he establishes between himself and his opponent. Floyd's height and reach advantage will require Pacquiao to close the distance to land a shot like that; you can bet he won't be rushing in chin up hands down like Hatton did.

While I've never been in favor of eugenics, but judging by this quote, it might be a good thing to spare parents having to worry if their child has any semblence of intelligence or just common sense. :rasta

Don't compare Hatton's defense or lack thereof to Floyd Mayweather.

mark my words, pacquiao's offense would actually turn out to be his weakness against floyd.
