Carwin is just closer to the camera. It's obvious when you look at how much smaller Brock's head is than Carwin's in this picture.
What class was this? The small high school in South Dakota or the U of Minnesota? A typical graduating Class for the U of Minn is over 10,000 people. To be last in a class that size is something special. Perhaps he was actually tied for last with a couple hunded people. All with 2.0 GPA's.
