This is the most realistic analysis. Not to crap all over the Duke, but the jounrneyman version of McCline that Arreola and Peter faced would be a live underdog against him with his durability and sporadic quick power punching.
Unfortunately there are no shot Ruddocks or old Foreman's for Arreola to face. Hardly a way to compare the two.
What you percieved to be awful or not was the typical McCline of the past few years, he actually gave a decent account of himself before getting stopped. About on par if not a little more game than most of Morrison's "name" wins save Foreman. I would favor Tommy by mid stoppage but he would probably get dropped by some of the punches that Arreola got staggered with, and if he got on a little roll like he did against the careless slugging Peter, he could very well stop the Duke.
Arreola is a trundle forward, hands high, because I have no head movement ,club fighter, who has beaten no one, and never will, he is a slob. The Mexican False Alarm.
Ross Purrity has a couple of decent wins on his record I beleive. Plus 27kos in 31 wins, he dropped Morrison twice to earn a draw. Not a great fighter but he could hit. Arreola's biggest win is over 39year old pacifist McCline, he is a catcher Morrison stops him.
true, but that fight proved morrison can take SOME punishment to come back and get the "W". i honestly think morrison would destroy arreola, people are making too much of arreola's chin and power, which i both find overrated.
Morrison and quite easily. For all his flaws he's a level above Arreola who I don't think is remotely worldclass. Faster and more skilled, he'd whip him in the first 3. It's not that I think Tommy was particularly good it's just that Arreola is so ****ing bad.
Morrison had his ups and downs, but on a good night I'd put my money behind Morrison. Like others have said who has Arreola beaten?
Purrity was 8-8 and had never fought past 6 rounds at that point. He was suppose to be an easy pushover for Morrison in a televised bout, instead it was a stinker that damaged his credibility further. It wouldn't be until a few more years and many more bouts against top tier contenders that Purrity would develop into a grizzled veteran journeyman that would upset guys like Gonzalez and Wlad.
It's not about how good Morrison was ,it's about how crap Arreola is. Didnt Ross Purrity beat someone half decent later on?:yep :good
Well being that Travis Walker dropped Arreola,I think that Purrity has a good chance of doing so,Purrity wasnt much ,but 27 kos in 31 wins proved he could hit a bit. Arreola has beaten NO ONE.
Thats probaby a great description of Morrisons chin. :yep I tend to agree, if Morrison doesnt get him out of there early, than he gets stopped.
