i see your point but williams accepts that he is going to take his share of shots and banks on being able to hit you more. this is the opposite of floyd who just isnt there to be hit like williams is (2nd round not withstanding). shane still has a chin and a punch so i think he would be very competitive with williams. that big punch of his would land.

Very interested and would love to see it come off. Quite possible to make the fight now that Mosley's stock is way down. PWill wont get any credit for the win though, but his resume will get a boost(in retrospect) and he will likely stop Shane. Might set up an ever bigger fight for him at welter where he should be fighting.

Shane is not that big a puncher... and certainly not at 154 where the fight could take place where Shane usually looks like ****... and considering Shane's age and inability to pull the trigger, I could actually envision Williams stopping Mosley late in the fight based on accumulation.

I'm always interested in two top guys stepping into the ring together.

Shane may not be peak but i think he could still give PW trouble.

How Shane looks in the fight will also give us an indication of how good Floyd's victory against him was. If PW rapes Shane then its obvious Shane was to shot to ever give Floyd a fight, but if Shane gives a decent account of himself then it will prove the reason why he looked shot against Floyd was because Floyd was just to damn good.

After the PBF fight many here were saying Mosley is shot and should retire.

Shane doesn't have the one-punch speed of martinez, nor does he have the length and height of Cintron. he would catch Williams a couple of times, but if Paul continues to fight more defenseively in his sparring, he can hold Shane off for 6 Rounds (possibly winning 3 of them), and then commence to pummeling that ass.

Mayweather only threw 25 more punches in his fight against Mosley. Was Mayweather tired too? :patsch

Mosley missed an average of 30 punches a round and got hit by an average of 17. Mosley missed over 40 punches in one round at one point. That will make you tired.

Tired of these fanboys making crap up. Mosley got beat because HE MISSED PUNCHES AND WAS GETTING HIT WITH POWER SHOTS. Deal with it, Mayweather was better.

Floyd would have stopped him if he hadn't been so cautious after that 2nd Round. It's clear as day Shane doesn't like pressure, from the way it seemed to bother him when Floyd applied it.

Fanboy?! Me?! You ****ing little **** noob... know your role and get to know the members around here before you starting talking **** you little puke!

Anyway, You're only half right. After that 2nd round barrage Mosley clearly tired... and I don't know how much boxing you've seen, but once a fighter hits a certain age his volume of punches begins to dwindle... and like you said, mayweather wasn't throwing a great deal of punches himself so there wasn't that much preventing Mosley from throwing more. The thing that stopped him from throwing the most was his inability to pull the trigger based on advanced ring age.

Or how about the fact that he was missing and getting hit back? Nah, that doesn't discourage you from throwing at all.

Mosley was getting abused in the ring, mentally and physically. That is why he stopped throwing, because he was getting beat and he did not want to get knocked out. Mosley didn't want to go out on his shield, that is why he became gun shy.

When he did throw, he missed and got hit with hard counters. That is discouraging and will keep you from throwing punches just for the sake of throwing punches. It makes you think about every single move you make. The tempo of the fight and the ability of Mayweather to neutralize the right hand after the 2nd round, drastically limited Mosley's output a lot more than his age did.

 Exactly. Mosley's last 3 fights were two clinchfests with Mayorga and Margarito, and another boring potshot performance by Floyd because Shane hardly threw anything back. Honestly, I don't undrestand the affection people have for Mosley. There's a reason he's never sold big... he's just not that entertaining a fighter.

    Gotta agree with you here.

You are by no means a Floyd or PW fanboy.

And I also agree that Shane is not the man he used to be. I would feel better about PW fighting Shane than against Cintron or Martinez. I don't think he has much of a chance after Round 4 or 5.
