Incredible match-up. Yes, I know Salvador Sanchez never made it up to 130lbs, but he was certainly headed that direction.

If Salvador carried up at the weight well, he'd win clearly. JMM wasn't the fighter Salvador was in pretty much every aspect of the game.

If a shot Morales and a 34 year old JMM can beat Pac it's not a stretch to suggest Sal could have done it easier!

I think he was. Sanchez has benefited greatly from his early death legacy wise... he has some fantastic wins, but he also struggled mightily with some middle of the pack type of guys. I know it's taboo to say so, but I would put him right in the pack with MAB, JMM and Erik, which is super elite level so it's no insult.

And I would put my money on Pac in this fight. We don't even know how Sanchez would look at 130.

Erik's last great performance, and JMM looked as good at 34 as he did at 28. He was very well preserved, and might STILL be at the top of his game, we'll see when he fights Diaz.

Salvador. Better than JMM and we all know how that goes.

floyd ducks the fight using Sanchez's lack of mainstream popularity in the US as his out. Floyd would handpick Castanon or Termite Watkins instead and HBO would televise it.

You can put it however you like but it's clear Morales was clearly past-prime(possibly shot) and JMM's physical prime was behind him.

And to suggest that Sanchez, who was only 23 when he died would have not fared well at 130 is just looking at the worst possible scenario.

Pac also struggled more than Sanchez before he hit his stride!

sanchez pinpointed and picked apart power punchers, even one's as skillful as pac. i have pac rated higher all time but in a styles fight, sanchez takes him down with straight accurate punches down the pipe, wearing him down and nearly stopping him late. pac makes it to the bell but barely
