I dont know, the Diaz fights didn't fill me with confidence that Paulie can do much this weekend. Diaz was smaller than Paulie, with shorter reach and slower footwork. However he gave him bags of it in the first fight and was still able to land good shots in the second fight.

Paulie has poor head movement, he just leaves his chin hanging out there, relying on his speed being better than the other guy so he can land his punch first. He also seems to zone out for times in the fight, and needs to have time to think.

Khan is going to be opposite to Diaz in all ways. He's bigger than Paulie. He's got foot work to keep after him and not give him a minute to breath. And he's fast enough to beat Paulie to the punch.

Dont see it being a good night for the Magic Man

A lot of people seem to be underrating Malignaggi in this bout...even though he should be the favourite in my opinion. He has been operating at a higher level for much longer...and at this point, this is a big step up in Khan's opposition.

I think it's gonna be a great fight. A split decision. Don't care for either enough to care who gets it, as long as it's entertaining....

:think Good points. It'll be a mistake to ignore the cards Khan holds going in to this fight, and of course the man who'll be pulling all the strings in his corner - who I'm sure would have considered all the factors I mentioned (and more).

But something tells me that Paulie will be extra vigilant against the more threatening Khan, and utilize the home crowd advantage (as well as his experience) to get the better of his relatively inexperienced opponent.

True. Despite what other have been saying about Khan, I honestly think this a serious test for him.

I'm sure it will be entertaining, as long as Paulie doesn't pick his old habit up of stinking fights again. If the Paulie who fought Hatton turns up, then he's gonna spoil what could have been an exciting fight. That's the only thing worries me about Paulie - if Khan does prove to be too much for him, he'll be discouraged and resort to shittie tactics.

I can see it being an exciting fight, Malignaggi is a lot tougher than he looks thats for sure. But its the fight I really wanted Khan to take and I think he will win the decision.

I respect you view on how you think the fight is going to go but i honestly think you could not be more wrong. Using the Diaz to justify Khan struggling gets you no where. Khan is totally different to Diaz. He is Faster, has more power, and punches in bunches.

The fight wont be fought on the inside as Khan will walk him down, launch an attack and then get out. Any time they clinch Khan will push him off and reset. IMO Khan is a lot stronger than PM.

I am so confident that Khan has got this one. Mallinagi is going to get out worked and out boxed. I actually predict a Khan TKO in round 8.

The other thing is that people keep calling PM a Slickster. I dont agree with this statement. For someone so slick he is pretty easy to hit. I cant see Khan having much trouble landing enough big punches to inflict enough damamge to stop him late on.

The thing that makes me most sure is that Roach wanted this fight. Roach is great and i am not taking anything away from him, but he picks fighters who work well with his fighters styles. As he knows more about boxing then any of us here i feel him being happy to take this fight in PMs back yard means he is certain that Khan will at the very least dominate him over 12 rounds.

I hope i dont have to eat my words but i am almost certain PM cant beat Khan.

    Just my thoughts.

Same here. Can't wait to see who will win this Saturday. After the fight especially in the ESB forum, a lot of "so called boxing experts" will provide their outrageous comments and excuses.

I like Paulie as a fighter, but I seriously think he is going to be out of his depth here. Paulie has skills and no power, Khan has better skills, speed and power. UD or TKO to Khan.

I wasn't really attempting to draw similarities between Khan and Diaz, because as you've just said, they are nothing like one another. I was merely illustrating the point that Paulie has footwork equal to Khan. This was evident in the 1st Diaz fight, when he was given a small ring to work with, and still managed to use it as if were a football pitch.

I'm not so sure, I think Paulie will attempt to force him in to clinches, much like he succeeded in doing against Cotto (who like I said is stronger than Khan).

That's a possibility (out-worked and out-boxed), as Ricky not long ago managed to do the same. Khan's a level above Ricky in skill, however I doubt that same Paulie will turn up.

    Good points

Just watch Paulie vs Cotto and Hatton you can see he does nothing extraordinary except survive (clingy). His power is nothin to respect. He does have footspeed and handspeed. But I think KHAN will take away his scape routes (cut off the ring) and pummel him.He will hit him with speed at angles and blinding power shots that even Paulie will acknowledge "dang u fast son" i dont see this going the distance.

Mal is not tough, TOUGH is morales,he takes a punches and never clings or Pac; he takes a punch and bang the gloves and ask for more.NOW that's tough homie. This kid Mali chin is sus to me.We will see though how tough he is.

BTW COTTO and HUGTON are lazy they love a hugfest. I don't think Paulie has that luxury when he is SHOOK by KHAN. And DIAZ is a BUM with no POWER.AMir is a good finisher. I would be surprised if Paulie wins IMO.

I actually think that his fight is bigger for Paulie than it is for Kahn. Amir is young enough and talented enough to come back after a loss against a tough oppenent in his own back yard. But for Paulie, if he losses i dont see him challanging the big names at LWW for a very long time. It will be a long road back for him, and one that he might not make as he is rapidly apporaching 30 now.
