If Pavlik hadn't of gotten cut, or "sick" against Hopkins; what are the chances he'd still be undefeated right now?

Hopkins schools Pavlik every day of the week.

If Pavlik hadn't of got cut against Martinez then he may have won that fight.

Pavlik was coming into the fight a bit leading up to the cut. He was starting to time Martinez a bit better. Martinez was throwing a bit less leading up to the cut but i don't know if this was because of what Pavlik was doing or maybe Martinez was just pacing himself for the last third of the fight.

Well i look at it like this, in a fight there are usually a number of reasons why a fighter wins or loses, not just one, now if you happen to be a loser you can nit pick any number of reasons as to why you lost depending on your agenda, so even though you can make a case of what might of happened if this, that does not happen, you have to factor in all! factors as to why you lost, not just pick out the ones that support the notion you would of win if this, that does not happen.

Pavlik's cut coincided with the fact Martinez was at a fail safe point in the fight, meaning he was at the point where Pavlik had adapted and he had two choices, carry on throwing singles that Pavlik can counter and stay safe, or put yourself in the firing line because you want to win by letting multiple shots go, he chose the latter, luckily for him Pavlik cant counter 3/4's like he can singles.

Martinez did in this fight what he did not do in the Williams fight, which was stand his ground and repel the pressure the opponent was building.

I live about 40 mins from Youngstown so if anyone should be a fan of Pavlik its me, but this guys just hype and always has been. He's the above average fighter, who is portrayed as being blue collar, or a white hope...whatever you want to call it. He is good and can make a living in the sport, but he should have never have been a main attraction on any PPV card. So to answer your question, no.
