 Seriously? So he finally got that "itch" to not only show appreciation to the sport itself but wants to take it a step further and "clean it up"? When for years he always stated he didn't really care about boxing...just the fact it would allow him to make a lot of money. Now he wants to clean it up and put aside the fact that his most important goal in in the PAST was to make as much money as possible.

It's funny that the fight that he claimed would be one of his easiest would also offer him his highest payday yet he now wants to "clean it up" and throw the money out the window? I see.:patsch

Are you serious? Floyd is a guy who doesn't give a **** about anybody but himself. Calling him a crusader is a laugh riot.

I will say that whatever Floyd is trying to do his tactic is spreading. Just yesterday Povetkin's manager came out saying that if Povetkin fights Wlad he would ask but not demand that both fighters undergo olympic WADA style testing. And the same day both Allen Green and Andre Ward came out and said that they would support WADA testing before their bout. Whatever the motivations for these requests it is nice to see that people are becoming more comfortable with making these types of requests.

thats not true at all, many PEDs are marketed to help u build lean muscle, the stuff that makes u all bulky and puffy are steroids

building lean muscle is not attributed to weight gain necessarily if you are merely sculpting and dropping fat...i think u are confusing steroids and PEDs

Because he was using drugs to cover his EPO usage. That can happen with any tests, whether it's USADA or whatever. It's a case where the supplier is one step ahead, so it's not really relevant.

    EPO itself can be found.

Honestly, labs are always 2 steps ahead of the testers. ESPN had a huge thing about Balco before they became BALCO. Saying that If their products were are used correctly, they won't be caught.

Labs know what these tests target and what triggers positive results. These labs find ways around it, doping agencies figure this out and design new tests. Then the labs go back to work figuring out ways around the tests. You can't test for what's unknown which is why labs will always be ahead of testers.

I'm not confusing them at all, it's just that steroids are the most commonly used recovery drug.

This idea of lean muscle is nonsense, spouted by cheap bodybuilding magazines. Steroids give you a pumped up look because they cause your cells to retain water. During the process of making weight, this is counter effective. The drugs which build 'lean muscle', which, again, is a fallousy, just don't retain water but there are still negatives. The water retention just affects weight and physical appearance. Boxers using drugs which build 'lean muscle', would still have more issues with stamina, speed and agility.

But 'lean muscle' is a myth.

Being favored to win is just a public opinion. Besides, I see nothing wrong with playing mind games. If a fighter allows Floyd to get in his head - he's simply not good enough to win. As for protecting Floyd's undefeated record, he has every right to it just as Pac has a right to walk away from blood tests. Both get criticized for their respective actions but one of them simply doesn't care while the other is losing sleep over his fear of a damaged reputation. This Boxing game is not for the weak. If you can't easily brush off gossip then maybe you don't belong in the business.

I realize Merchant wants the fight to happen just like the rest of us but I can easily criticize him for questioning Floyd's motive. Stop conjecturing and focus on the fact that OSDT is giving us tremendous confidence that we're getting a clean fight! Seems like Merchant and the rest of Floyd's detractors work so hard to find fault. Maybe Floyd does have ulterior motives. We don't know and simply cannot assume. What's in his mind is not important. Extra blood tests are good for the sport due to the fact that the standard system is outdated and flawed. Not accepting this tends to make me think you condone PED use.

i dont agree, then do u consider creatine a steroid? because it does exactly this and creatine is natural and can be found in red meat...for instance the amino acid l-arginine gives u that pumped up feeling and gives u an extra boost from working out but its not a steroid at all and does not cause u to retain water in ur muscles, but they both help ur workouts

Its pretty obvious that Floyd KNOWS Manny is, or was juicing.
Thats how the whole issue came about, and its why Manny wont take the test.

Im with him 100% on his position to Manny, take the test or **** off.
