What if Pacquiao asked Floyd for this?

Yeah I'm tired of debating it. I just want to see the fight now. I got Pacquiao winning by UD or mid-late TKO. I don't see the size being an issue at all. Pacquiao sparred super middleweights prior to the Clottey fight. Floyd's real advantage is his reach but I don't see that being an issue with Pac's footwork, and the fact that Floyd isn't much of an outside fighter anyway.

I agree that Mayweather's skill set is better than Pacquiao's. Perhaps I misspoke there. But for all of Mayweather's superior skills, Pac still has superior footspeed, willingness and ability to throw combinations, angles, chin, and I would argue, a better engine. In my opinion, anyway. Plus the southpaw issue. I think that when you compare the +/- between the two boxers, taking away Floyd's clear size advantage by forcing a weigh in on the day of the fight would tilt the playing field in Pacquiao's advantage considerably, if it were not already there.

There is also the fact that as Jim Lampley, I think mentioned once, Pacquiao's learning curve has accelerated through the middle portion of his career. Floyd is great. Highly skilled, we all know that. But Pac makes a quantum leap in skill set between fights. Who knows where he would be when he fought Floyd.

Noted. But I'm saying for this fight. I could just have easily said it is ironic that Floyd asks for tests to clean the sport up when he has a history of injecting xyclocaine in his hands. This is also fact.

Because then it wouldn't be a welterweight fight. Ain't no fighter who'd agree to that. Drug testing's established.. on the day weigh ins are soooo 60's!

It is a good point since Floyd outweighted Marquez for at least 10 pounds in the ring
and 2 pounds out of it.

    Ok...

Let's say Floyd accepts your proposed stipulation. Now what if he says in order to even out the playing field Pac has to take 30 times as many blood tests as Floyd with no cutoff date? You willing to accept this? You see where I'm going with this? We can go back and forth all day with clauses. At what point do you stop? It's pointless because the fight would never be made if both fighters are solely focused on gaining an advantage over the other.

It was Team Pac who first came forward with their stipulations. Then Floyd threw his OSDT request on the table. That's where it should have ended because at that point the playing field was even. One point advantage goes to Pac for making Floyd wear gloves which he's not used to as well as making him accept such a ridiculous weight penalty if he happens to cheat. One point advantage goes to Floyd for getting Pac to go out of his comfort zone by taking random blood tests. Again, the score was even and the contracts should have been signed.

If they both weighed in the day of the fight, it could be done. However, this would probably favor Mayweather. According to Mayweather, he was 147 lbs. the day of the fight against Mosley. The guy keeps himself in tremendous shape. He could do it with no problem. According to Roach, Pacquaio is usually about 150 lbs. on fight night. So Pacquaio would have to work a little harder to make sure that he made the weight.

they stopped fight day weigh in to prevent injury, dehydration means the brain is not cushioned and reflexes are slowed

well pac asked for the weight fine

    floyd asked for testing

    1 for 1

    but, speaking hypothetically

i don't think floyd would be bothered...wasn't he 147, or close to, the day of the mosley fight?
