Accidently posted this in the classic but hey, do you think he will ever get back in the ring at any kind of top form. I traind with him when he fought hopkins, wright, then he should have beat pavilik and beat froch i think every round then got dropped, whats wrong with him. I may be biased but i thought he was betterwhen he was at our gym in little rock. It seems like hes afraid to finish or hurt sombody now. Right?

Absolutely will never be a top 10 or even elite fighter again. Welcome Jermain to Gatekeeper status.

He has the talent but the punch resistance has gone.

He needs to call it a day.

o and what happend a the super 6. horrible lost 2 fights. In under 30 seconds, how does that happen no heart an mostly that thing that cant be taught, killer instinct. hes a super nice guy drives a horrible 2001 oldsmobile with a v-12 who does that. his mind isnt right. but hey he at least was a champ an stepped in the ring with a couple greats or lets just call pavilik and froch maybe future greats but not like hopkins

Jermain still has something to give. He needs a few easy fights before stepping back up. Fighting Abraham straight after Froch was dumb.

I dont think so. His punch resistance has faded to too great an extent IMO. Also you have to question his heart, 2 last round KO's back to back, im not sure he has the heart to be in the top 10 again

If he goes away for a year, gets himself good rest and comes back in the fashion of Shannon Briggs, fighting lower rated fighters for a year or two, there is no reason he can't rebuild back into a competitor.

The guy is a solid puncher and good technician. He just seems to have stamina issues and confidence problems.

Not enough fighters take that Shannon Briggs route in my view, take a decent break from the sport, then spend a year fighting once every month or two against fighters outside of the Top 10 to rebuild themselves before making a second attempt at the top level.

In Shannon's case, his training ethics went down hill again and he lost the progress he made.

I respect him greatly but he was never as good as he was hyped up to be. He stepped up his competition and it has shown. I just hope JT retires and spends time with his family, god forbid he get's ko'd again.

Fans are really hard on a guy that has the best resume outta guys fighting today. JT's fights all in this order- Joppy, Hopkins 2x, Winky, Spinks, Ohma ( when he was good), Pavlik 2x, Lacy, Froch, Abraham. That's 11 str8 tough fights, he lost a few, but he won most of them. He's only been defeated by the top guys-all his loses came to undefeated guys that were good. All his fights were competitive. Now if and when he become's gun shy as Jones or Mosely then maybe it's time for him to retire. He has been stopped a few time's but I say let him fight a few confidence booster type fights and then move him back up and see what happens then. You have a guy fighting the best fighters from 160 and 168 and he loses a few fights and everyone is screaming for him to retire. He hasn't made himself look bad like Jones has these past couple of years. I say JT can rise again, he just needs a well deserve break thats all.
