What is the most lop-sided, brutal ass-kicking/mismatch between two ATG's????

I don't think htis is a fair one, much like Pac-Oscar.

 

Tyson was about 15 years past his best thats why.

I would have to say HOPKINS VS TRINIDAD. For 3 reasons

1) Both Men were in their Prime, and people (at the time) thought that Tito would have NO problem with moving up in weight because he handled William Joppy at 160lbs pretty damn easy.

2) "Tito" was THE OVERWHELMING favorite for this fight. And I remember seeing the odds, listening to the all the Boxing Gurus, Critics and writers saying how "Tito" had too much power for Hopkins. And there was a website "Back-n-the-day called INNERCITYBOXING.COM It shut down in '03, but when they said that This would be Hopkins easiest fight...I laughed my ass off!!! Because I was a "Tito" fan.

3) I was shocked how easy Hopkins landed, wobbled and hurt "Tito". And that "Tito" barely laid a glove on Hopkins.

 

Foreman-Frazier I easily....he knocked him down about 5 times in the first 2 rounds.

 

Hopkins-Pavlik actually has a lot in common with this fight.

What qualifies as ATG in your book? I don't think Hearns is, and most def. not Cuevas. The guys was 27-6 when they fought and finished with like 15 losses. Hatton is not ATG, Naz is not ATG, Spinks is not ATG heavyweight. Both Liston and Patterson are debatable. If you put them in that category, you've got to put at least a dozen other HW champs in there too just because they are obviously better than those two. Maybe most people just have a lot broader definition of ATG than I do. I think it should be a very elite group.

When hearns fought other ATGs in their prime, he lost. That seems pretty simple. Duran was three weight classes above and four years beyond his best days. Benitez (another non-ATG IMO, but I know he'll be thrown out there) was two weight classes and five years removed from his.
