One of my favorite things in boxing. Video would be good as well. Body punching, after all, is an art... Especially one punch knockouts to the body. :happy Here's a shocking/odd one to start things off. Jorge Rodrigo Barrios vs Janos Nagy. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_VjJ4N_IG0[/ame] Another sudden/"odd" to some one shot body knockout. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEqIrWhjmZM[/ame] Mickey Ward vs ultra hard hitting Alfonso Sanchez. Ward had lost every round up until this point, then suddenly had Sanchez on the ground in tears (literally) from a brutal body shot. Can't find a video of it to post, but Floyd Patterson-Charlie "Devil" Green in 1970. Patterson ko'ed Green in the 10th and last round with a left to the body..the ref counted to 10, not a tko.
I'd like to see Craig Payne's single punch knockout of Rocky Sekorski with a single long right to the solar plexus on youtube. (Al Albert and Sean O'Grady broadcast it, and I remember Sekorski being down for the full count, not a TKO, as a certain isswebsite which shall remain nameless records it as.) Dempsey's twelfth round knockout of Brennan was a fine display of late round power to the body. KO Bill struggled mightily to beat the count, but just couldn't manage it.
Gatti v Dorin was a decent one. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tc4dtJvqwRY[/ame] Skip to 4:35 for a good slow-mo replay from a better angle than the real-time shot.
Great rough fight, I watched it again earlier today and was still in awe of the devastating power of Dempsey's rapid left hook to the jaw and 2 rights to the body combo in round 12, Brennan seemed in sheer agony when he got up, his body doubled over. Is it true that a headbutt from Brennan caused the tear on Dempsey's ear? Could it have been a bite instead?

I've never heard or read anything about a bite. They had too much mutual respect for me to believe Brennan might resort to something like this. An accidental butt is far more plausible. (In his autobiography, Dempsey was brief in describing it, just saying that they "were both beat" at the end when he finished matters.) At 197, Brennan was rock hard. This was no flimsy 172 pound Carpentier Jack was breaking in half. (Nonetheless, the size disparity between Dempsey and Carp was less than that between Louis and Conn in 1941.)

Sorry, I wasn't accusing Brennan of biting, I just was very surprised that a unintentional headbutt could damage his ear like that and was looking for an alternative explanation. It's nice to hear that they had great mutual respect for each other, if I'd known that beforehand I would not have made such a suggestion. Dempsey's comment is appropriate, it was a very physical, punishing war and both men looked like they were forged from cast iron as they traded shots.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zU_sT_FvyWU[/ame] here is the most famous one (at the end of the film)
The shot that KO'd him was not a body shot. It was an uppercut straight through the guard to the jaw.
Ward-Sanchez is my favourite. As soon as I saw the title of the thread I hot-footed it over to youtube to get it, then once I got here I realized I had been beaten to it! Positively evil shot!
