Was´nt that the only right hand he threw in the whole freakin fight? And so what if he trained by Jeff Mayweather, Wlad could have tried to throw the right more often, to throw it once or twice in 36 minutes, is unforgivable. Thats why I dislike Wlad, I used to like him but after that performance I really hope somebody knocks him out.
:good He looks so fast against Eddie Chambers. And Chambers looks so good against Dimitrenko. Wlad can move very well for a big man his size. Great Jab and punching power, and great athlet. That´s makes him one of the best Heavyweights of all the time.
Have i said this? No. I do not compare Foreman, Ali to Ibragimov .... Ali had a plan against Foreman. Ibragimov had the same plan like Ali. He was very defence, he wants to tire Wlad, wants Wlad to make mistakes. But Wlad did not make this mistake. So Wlad had the better plan and win the fight.
I do not say he is Ali. I am a great Muhammad Ali Fan, but i like the way Ali fights in his younger years. Dancing around and not get be hit. Ali gets much hate because of this style. I can remember all this things. Today he is a hero, in his fighting career Ali got much hate. But Ali always fought with a gameplan. Ibragimov was a very defence southpaw and very hard to fight. Wlad shows since he is with Emanuel Steward, he can win against all typs of fighters. He dominates all of them and Wlad makes them fights his fight. And this shows his greatnes.
Listen up, I am not saying Wlad isnt good, he is definately the best heavyweight since Lennox Lewis, but he is in the weakest era, and should throw the right a lot more often than he do, even if it dont land. Ali, I can assure you letted his hands go, even though he danced. What does Wlad do? Jab jab jab jab jab jab jab jab jab jab jab, and then throws the right when he is 1000 percent sure it will land, Why not throw it more often? I will definately be a fan if he does it more often.
If Wlad throws the right hand more often, he would KO his opponents earlier and everyone would say, the opponent was ****. Wlad can make it this way or the other way, some will critize him for everything. Wlad had lost fights in the past because of mistakes and he will never make the same again. So it is better to wait one round or two more to win. You have to learn from your mistakes and Wlad did it.
And thats why Im not a fan of his, he doesnt have a good chin and does not entertain me. I hope you understands. He will definately go down as the best of his era, but he will never get enough credit because he fought in a weak era and was boring as hell.
I like Wladdy, think he is great, and understand your point. But in all fairness, Lennox fought plenty of prime guys his won size: Ruddock, Golota, Briggs, Grant, Mason, Bruno, etc. Though no fault of his won, Wlads top notch wins have been agaisnt guys he dwarfs: Byrd, Peter, Ibragimov, Chagaev. I have every confidence in Wlad to beat anybody put in front of him, but I also count myself amongst those who wish that there was someoen big, hard hitting and good around these days other than Vitali. Well, amybe Helenius down the road.
It's mostly about skills man. Mike Tyson wasn't just the most powerful, he was the most skilled in the early part of his era, being only really 5'10''... 90% of guys he faced were taller than him with longer reaches and all, it didn't change his dominance. I understand that size is an advantage but I see it more as an added bonus to great skills. On top of that, Naz Richardson even said it himself, for a guy to have such a shaky chin with fragile confidence, Wlad has to be very talented in order to dominate at heavyweight like he does.
If there's Noone to test him (through no fault of his own) how can you say he's unbeatable? He is a great fighter though, no doubt.
Is he the best of a weak bunch in a weak era for the heavyweight division or is he just that good that makes everybody else look bad. Honestly i think he's just lucky to be in an era that the heavyweight division sucks. There's not one other heavyweight outhere that's any good to challenge him and that's sad. :hat
