Has ITV done a REALLY poor job at marketing the Khan fight and boxing in general?

This could very well be the excuse ITV are looking for to not screen more boxing if (when) they get poor viewing figures.

I never thought they were terrible, but their 'efforts' on Froch v Kessler was absolutely abysmal.

I disagree they have always been two Hype Men for me, the most annoying people to listen to while watching boxing.

Most people that even know who khan is know he got knocked out in his first ppv which many paid for and the rest hate him cos hes a ****. Plus, he cant sell ****. Nothing to do with itv. Khan is not a star.

I still dont understand why people are desperate to see boxing on terrestrial tv. Did anyone honestly believe ITV were going to push this? Sky are the only one's who do boxing justice in the UK.

Yesterday I said to a friend at work who doesnt have Sky if he was watching the Khan fight? His response was "No I aint going pub to watch it". I then told him it was on ITV.

Cause Big Brother is/was an immensely popular phenomenon that was known by the entire nation.

Well i dont have Sky....... and terrestrial channels are where you are really going to capture a broad audience rather than specific sports fans

Naseem Hamed and Ricky Hatton both stars and both without terrestrial tv.

The most important thing is the network not whether its terrestrial or Sky.

I think way too many people bought into Khan fighting on ITV and thinking somehow it meant a new dawn. ITV were never going to push a fight where 1. Its on the early hours and 2. Malinaggi is not known by many and those that do know him remember seeing him look awful v Hatton and even worse on a Hatton undercard.

I thought it was getting binned because it isn't popular anymore? Still dont feel its viewing figures should be used to illustrate any point on a boxing forum tho.

His point was that Big Brother is (or was, at the time) one of the most well known and immensely popular programmes across the whole country, but the figures for a Khan fight trumped them.

(today) I really had no idea ITV was showing khan vs malignaggi fight until my work colleague was looking through the TV guild. He & i fellow boxing aswel so both kinda shocked we found out such short notice. none the less, going to be a good fight.
