i think the x factor is the fact that mayweather only lost the position by default due to retirement...

And the shane that floyd beat is a better fighter than the last 3 opponents that pac has faced....

shane was 2nd to paul williams in the most avoided fighter in the division....and Floyd outclassed him!!!!

Pac has a lot of good wins but to become the number 1 after beating 3 guys at welter and still not be the #1 welter was absurd before shanes lost to floyd...

floyd is undefeated in 41 fights and has defeated a ton of world champions in dominating fashions...and today is the #1 welter...manny should be #2 p4p imo

although i do understand why he has been number 1

Not by much but yes....I think shane was slightly better than Cotto whom Cotto actually beat...and better than Josh which is why I understand where some feel Floyd should be at the #1 spot. but Lets see what Manny has done.....Won dominantly and impressively which isn't grounds to remove him from most peoples P4P list.

    But I respect your stance!:good

You stated your comment off of a qoute that I said. Which gave the assumption, that you needed some approvel to state your opinon. So I was happy to oblige, but don't worry it was free of charge...:hi:

Bull****. Oscar was weight drained and frail, Hatton was torn between to trainers and ignored both, Cotto was ruined by Margo and fighting at Pac-weight and Clottey quite literally just stood there like a statue!

To be fair even though Cotto was shot to pieces at least he came to fight, as did Mosley and JMM.

Pac's resume is all smoke and mirrors.

Ali vacated the true and linear heavyweight championship of the world. The most valuable prize in all of sports. This is a collection of opinions opined from a group of low paid nitwits who can sell more stories by being controversial. Please don't bring Ali into this. Even Floyd doesn't deserve to be compared to Ali and don't place this parlor room argument in the same context as a true and linear world championship.

Yes i agree that when Floyd retired he gave up the p4p title. I feel that if he did not retire he would have been voted the FOTD in my opinion. Manny took over as p4p#1 first and foremost because floyd retired. When Floyd came back Manny end up being voted FOTD because floyd retired and Manny went on an impressive run during that time. Floyd was not given the p4p#1 title when he came back he had to earn it by beating the #2 and #3 p4p guys respectively. Floyd didnt lose the p4p# 1 in the ring but he did earn that right again in the ring.

Highly debatable as Pacquiao beat Cotto who beat Mosely.
