As much as I love the L.A. guy, I gotta take Basilio because of the power factor. That is the tie-breaker in a match of men with similar skill.

Over 15, Basilio without a doubt. Over 12, Basilio by a tight D. No doubt DLH would move for a while and have some success with doing it and jabbing in the early rounds, but Basilio was very skilled at making use of the opportunities he got to open up, and would probably come up with uppercuts and combinations when DLH chose to exchange. When he starts to fade in the later rounds I think Basilio would definitely cut him off more decisively. Basilio also has a good defence against that kind of style.

    Good thread, nice match-up.

pOWER:huh OSCAR HIT WAY HARDER THAN BASILIO.

CARMEN WAS RELENTLESS WITH A DECENT POWER AND HE RELIED MORE ON ACCUMALATION. FOR ONE PUNCH OSCAR HIT WAY HARDER ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE.:nono

Basilio for me, no doubt. I rank him higher, and I think he'd beat Oscar in the ring. Basilio's endeavours in a great welterweight division cannot be understated. And in a head-to-head, Oscar isn't coping with that relentless pressure. Basilio UD.

This is one of those times where I'd favor different guys over a different distance. 12, favor Oscar. 15, slightly favor Basilio.

Basilio over 15 by decision. What he did in losing to SRR in the rematch would be enough to beat Oscar. It would be Basilio's fight from the 11th on. He'd finish much stronger than Oscar. I don't even consider what the result would have been over 12 because in dream title bout the distance can only be 15...the championship distance before boxing got pussified to 12 round title matches.

Do you like the 12 round limit?

I chose Hoya because I thought it was asking who you rate higher.

Id give a pretty slim edge to Carmen at welter...and reckon he takes it pretty clearly any higher.

At middleweight, comparing the versions that showed up there, I absolutely agree.
