It was freaky back in 1986 and '87 seeing Duran trading with the likes of Robbie Sims and that rugged dude named Juan C. Giminez at middleweight and either upward of age 35 or slightly over........
    :bbb

I doubt Aaron Pryor was strong or powerful enough to hang with them dude's (Sims and Giminez) at ages 35 to 36 like Duran did........

Adding weight only aides a fighters chin when he moves up from being weight-drained down so low to where he had less than 2% body fat content......

The case of Roger Mayweather owning a better beard at 140 is a good start and argument.... Roger's chin was generally horrid in the ring, but when he won the WBC 140 pound title back in the late 80s, I felt Roger appeared more durable than what he was at the lower weights of 130 and 135 pounds......

I think Duran would win an exciting fight. They both have some similar traits (speed, aggression, good power), but Duran was more polished. Better defensive fighter, mixed combinations upstairs and downstairs so well, great use of angles and feints.

Incidentally they almost fought in the early 80s at 150, but Pryor had managerial issues and by the time he sorted them out, Duran looked elsewhere.

Too close t call. One thing i cant agree is that Pryor was made to order for Duran or that Duran would intimidate him. Pryor can box and has late gr8 round stamina, which exceeded that of Arguello.

The Sims fight is probably my favourite of Duran's "losing" performances, though I felt he had it won.

Duran was more controlled. He'd get underneath Pryor's high flying headhunting, and work both Aaron's exposed body and chin. Even with Panama Lewis in his corner, and even with the Hawk throwing over 100 punches a round for 15 full rounds, it comes down to who actually gets hit more, and Duran wins that game pretty cleanly. Compustat numbers would be interesting. Pryor would be swatting air while El Cholo was pounding flesh. Assuming Aaron takes everything Roberto has without flinching, I still think you'd see a UD verdict with fair scorecards reflecting margins of not less than five points in favor of the pocket Manson.

You dudes are funny, this chin argument is rediculous,Durans chin was not iron,Hearns nearly put him in a snowwhite coma,Pryor took much more from a still very powerful Arguello than Duran did from Hearns and Arguello hit harder than Duran at any of Durans weights i dont think he could took the shots Pryor took from Arguello.I know all Durans technical advantages defensively, but their offenses were pretty close, and Pryor hit harder, and i think Pryors attack was better from the outside,he knew how to get in,the fact is when it was time for Duran to get inside against a great boxer/puncher he failed and nearly got killed,Pryor on the otherhand succeded by tearing Arguello limb from limb twice, while Duran managed to duck Arguello for years,Duran is 1 of the very greatest but yaw try to make him into superman, well if he is we damn sure know what his kryptonite is big righthands,Pryor would give him a lot them Duran would never see a attack the way Aaron would bring it,and he would never be scared of Duran,Pryor fears knowone not even now he does the scaring,Pryor by ko late.

The Leonard that fought Duran in Montreal, would have been stopped by Pryor.

I thought a draw was fair.......... Sims was the "Money" kid with a future in 1986, while Duran was thought to be just hanging around for more money......

I was sold on Sims in 1986, but he quickly fizzled by the later part of the 80s........
