Malignaggi was more than a tune-up. Easy fight in retrospect, sure, but it was a step-up in opponent.

Nah but them guys proved them selves as the best around in there weight. Were talking about a guy who has a lot to prove. The only reason he wants to fight on july 31 is because ramadhan is in august so he wont be able to train. So its either a fight in july n then in november or just a 1 fight in november. So fighting prescott in july is better than not fighting at all no?

Maidana deserve his shot and would be a great way for Khan to prove he can beat a known banger and earn some respect. As for Prescott, bizzarely Mitchell beating him and then losing Saturday kind of makes it irrelevent now and Khan doesnt have to excorcise that demon anymore. Had Breidis beat Mitchell there'd still be a (ash) cloud hanging over Khan and maybe a need to settle the score but no longer and even the Mitchell fights now a no-no so he can and should be focussing on 140s elite.
