Lampley is unbearable. I hate it when he's for the guy I'm for b/c it almost makes me want to root for the other guy just to **** him off. He can't announce a fight anymore without cheerleading for one guy or the other. Nobody was enjoying MAB whippin' Naz as much as I was, but wholly moses Lampley is supposed to be impartial, and he was anything but. George was unprofessional at times, and Merchant rambles at times, but give me either one over Lampley. I'm just glad him and Jim Grey are on separate networks. If they worked fight cards together, their combined suckdom would be enough to keep me from watching it.
Did Lampley just imply that it'd be seriously dangerous for Roy Jones to fight him, with his current level of punch resistance??
I think he was/is the worst announcer in history. He is SOOO obviously a shill for HBO fighters that it is pathetic. Where the hell is Barry Tompkins. They should shoot Lampley and nail Lederman at the same time and the HBO world would be a better place. Throw the annoying Kellerman in there too and you could get them all with the same bullet, as Dwight T. Shrute demonstrated.:thumbsup
I think Roy would still beat lampley lol but while we're on the topic of announcers I really think that Roy Jones was one of the best ones they've ever had, he was never biased and he was very smart.
Does anyone know where to bring out the clip where Lampley's man lust for MAB goes over the top that he starts insinuating that Barrera is a better figher than JC Chavez? George Foreman finally hears enough of it and has to intervene........"Blasphemy!" Big George was'nt to keen on spotting style issues, but I liked that he was'nt afraid to step in on either Lampley or Merchant and disagree with them. .......and certainly, when either of those two went over the top where they we're degrading certain fighters, Foreman has been there and done that, he'd step in with a piece of his mind. There's nothing worse than a commentator questioning a fighters manhood when they have no idea what its like to be on the recieving end of a beatdown........and surely Big George would speak his mind about it.
I actually didn't mind the BANG BANG rant being as that I was drunk and bored with the fight, and Lampley provided all of us with some unintentional comedic relief.
I wanted to fly to the fight and smack him for it. I can't stand Lampley and when he started that I nearly shut the tv off I was so pissed.
After awhile I started to not take his rants (or Foreman's) seriously and just laugh and how ridiculous they can be. "Juan Diaz should be a bigger draw. He's exciting, he's physically attractive". :?
I like the HBO team the best of all of the different networks, but I just can't stand Lampley. He manages to **** me off every fight he is at. I wouldn't mind him so much if he wasn't so clearly biased in every fight and if he would tell us the compubox numbers every 5 punches.
Yeah, you always get people saying "look, so and so deserved to win, look at the Compubox stats"...."The numbers don't lie" :-(
:rofl :rofl :rofl I love some of the **** the HBO crew says. I don't even think they realize it half the time "..Nobody is Pound for Pound until they beat James Page.." - George Foreman "..The referee is the most important man inside this ring besides these two fighters.." And than that time George was ranting on about how politcs effects people Larry was like WTF are you talking about George :rofl
