I met both David Haye and Adam Booth in New York at the press conference for the Wlad fight. Both seemed very down to earth to me and both were friendly and had plenty of time for the few fans like myself that managed to sneak in
text wlad last night from here at Vitalis camp.... Wlad....."No word from Haye yet" take it for what it is
Haye and Booth are making excuses why they cant fight Wladimir klitschko now, and they say they want Vitali instead. Interesting, knowing that Wlad is the brother who wants the fight more and already persuaded Vitali to let him take first shot at Haye. Also interesting that Vitali is the older brother, almost 39 years old, and could be fading fast. But Haye and Booth already back out of a Vitali fight negotiations too. So, they are full of crap. Haye's avoidance of these fights is embarrassingly blatant. And after all that fuss and insults and talk about the Klitschkos, Haye should **** off and retire in shame.
Exactly my thoughts. A guy 29 years old already speaking of retiring and "needing rest"? And then he declines a personal challenge to fight "THE" unified HW belt? Why not just retire on the spot. Do us all a favor.
I can see it now... Haye wants Vitali... Vitali has a fight in 2 weeks... then wlad will fight in September... so the earliest vitali can fight again is late October or november... by that time.. Haye will state... "I cant wait forever for Vitali" so Haye will take a fight thus the schedules will be off and a fight wont happen until next year if at all QUESTION.... what is the justification from Haye to go after Vitali?
Because he's better than WALDO, perhaps? A lot of people think he'd be the tougher fight. I'm not saying that's what I think by the way. We both know that the real reason he'd go for the older brother is the word "older", Haye probably thinks if he picks up VITLAYS belt he's in line for a 50-50 split if and when he fights WALDO (if he wins) I don't agree with that, but most fighters do it - including WALDO, who has picked up his fair share of over the hill ex-somebodies in his time.
Stalling, and then fighting someone else altogether... Booth already stated he wanted Vitali This content is protected first. I guess against Adamek he will be a slight favorite so I think that's his next bout.
I'm not sure. This article, the comments from Haye's camp imply that Haye "needs a rest" and that Wladimir will have to fight Povetkin. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/boxing/815132/HAYE-WLADIMIR-KLITSCHKO-FIGHT-ON-BRINK-OF-COLLAPSE.html But I think Wladimir had straightened that with the IBF, now Haye's camp want to delay the fight until those mandatories come up again, then they are off the hook. They obviously want neither klitschko, but Vitali at 39 years of age as late as possible in the year might be a possible for them. More likely, they sabotage every single effort to make the fight and get Valuev or Audley instead. Perhaps Holyfield.
