The guy coming in laughing doesn't know ****. Duran was unpredictable as soon as he moved up and his record shows it. To give Oscar no shot, considering the man was a beast at 147, is ridiculous. Leonard fought Duran, on Duran's terms, and almost pulled off the win and Oscar in his prime against anyone at welterweight provides a full scale nightmare. On a pound for pound basis it's not close - Duran all the way! Amazing how many people think Oscar's an easy touch!
Thats the thing, duran would have to be well prepared, if he comes in out of shape and unfocused, prime DLH who just moved to 147 could certainly win. DLH has good power and a damn good chin. Watching the hearns fight at 154, duran didnt look too good. against a lesser opponent im sure he could have warmed up and taken control but Hearns hurt him early when he was looking sluggish and never gave him the chance to get started because he kept him hurt into the second and he was a great finisher. Hearns was in great form that night while duran was in bad form and hearns took full advantage
1. Leonard fought Duran how Leonard (at his best) fought. Duran took the fight to the inside with SKILLS. 2. DLH has nothing on Leonard, not in any department. A very good fighter, but that doesn't mean we have to compare him to SRL 3. Leonard was nowhere near pulling off the win. Duran took that fight over and won it clearly.
depends if DLH fights him when duran is 50 since he has a reputation of doing that.. in their primes i take duran but either way a mexican is winning :hat
This would be a great fight and it wouldn't be as easy for Duran as poeople here make it out to be. Oscar does have tools that would trouble Duran mainly his speed and jab. With that said I would pick Duran to win by UD.
Im picking the Montreal version of Duran by competetive but convincing decision, although if Oscar tired i can see a late stoppage in a 15 rounder, Duran would have to be at his best though anything less and Delahoya could take it. Duran and ODLH are actually my all 2 favorite all time fighters hate to see either guy lose.
