What was the better performance on Saturday night, Amir Kahn with his win over Paulie M, or Victor Ortiz with his shut out win over Nate Campbell?

I would have to say Ortiz’s win was better IMO. I think there was a lot of question marks over his head, particularly after the Maidana fight. But I think he responded well and made Nate look pretty old and average in there. Not taking anything away from Kahn at all as I thought he was good to say the least, particularly on his US début, but I was most impressed with Ortiz.

How do you guys see it?

Katsidis brutalizing that guy from your country as a good performance too.

I was more impressed with Khan. Ortiz could have stepped it up and probably stopped Campbell but he was content to just box his way to a decision. Nate also looked like an old fighter in there and I think Paulie has more in the tank than Nate does.

Amir Khan. He outboxed the boxer, showed quicker hands, better footwork, and picked off Paulie's quick punches with ease. He's a tough fight for anyone and he went in for the stoppage, despite that he could have several rounds earlier.

Anything common between the losers : Pac haters!

In one night, both suffered defeats, embarrasing ones! Talk about karma!

    Next one? Hopefully in November.

I wasn't particulaly impressed with Ortiz. He could've stepped it up a lot more and he had some shaky spots in there where he still seemed unsure of himself.

    I agree.

I think Campbell hit him w/an uppercut early on.
That reminded him a bit of the Maidana fight.

But overall That appears to be the new "Vicious".
    (His style from now on)

    Less pressure, More movement.

Khan impressed me far more. He'd annihilate "not so viscious" Victor Ortiz IMO.

Hard to say. Technically I actually thought Ortiz performed better. Khan got away with so much bad punches and movement because of his wingspan and height advantage.

Heart wise, I felt Khan was better. I still have this feeling that when Ortiz gets buzzed, he is 2 seconds from mentally breaking. As if, he begins to doubt himself (again).

Khan was never really in danger BEFORE or during the fight. Only a lucky walk in to a punch would have change the results.

Ortiz took on a more risky fight and performed better than I expected.

So I give it very slightly to Ortiz.

In the context that it was Khan's American debut and that he was fighting against a former champ who had turned his career back around...Khan, easy.

    Ortiz's performance dissappointed me actually.

He had an old, small guy with a much weaker punch than him coming forward that wants to brawl and what does Ortiz do?

He boxes his way to a decision, Ortiz has lost his animal instinct in the Maidana fight.

Khan's win was definitely much more impressive. Ortiz, frankly, didn't look all that great in there. Campbell mostly just looked shot, and Ortiz still seems tentative himself.
