i'm not insinuating anything...just thought it was interesting to see how he defeated fedor's brother. And hey if he beats fedor too , he'll be the first in mma history to have beaten both emelianenko bros. Of course Aleksander isn't fedor...(nor ever was as talented)...It's still interesting. Hey even fedor's camp mentioned this fight (and that's why they take werdum very seriously too)
I feel that Werdum's punch resistance has slipped a bit. If memory serves he was even stung somewhat in his first Strikeforce bout against Mike Pyle, I think.
He was also KTFO by JDS and dropped and hurt vs Antonio Silva so thats 3 consecutive fights where hes been atleast momentarily buzzed. I just cant imagine that chin holding up vs Fedor.
Werdum was almost finished in the 1st round against Silva in his last fight. He recovered nicely for the win. Fedor won't let that happen.
Yes: I saw the Dos Santos and Bigfoot fights. I thought that the incident with Pyle was the most telling of the three examples. Arlovski also had him down and hurt with an uppercut. That may have been the fight before Dos Santos, I am not certain. I agree: Not a favorable trend when preparing for Fedor.
Nice find, thanks for posting. I think if Werdum didn't take down Aleks he would have been sleeping also, lucky Werdum knows his strengths. I would imagine he will try the same tactic with Fedor only I'm not sure he keeps Fedor on his back or even gets him on his back.
Aleks is def not his brother. The way they both move on their back is different. Fedor would be much more active.
He would be... But Werdum is never taking Fedor down, the only way its going to the floor is if Fedor wants it to.
