Why do some boxers run at 3 AM?

    Why do some boxers do this? It's madness? A run is a run weather you do it at 10 AM OR 3 AM? Floyd does it and ive heard of loads of other guys do it? Why?

    IF your trying to get back down to your fighting weight(most guys walk around at 15 to 20 lbs heavier) its best to run before you eat or train.

    The air is supposed to be better early in the morning or something like that.

    Some fighters like the psychological edge of training when they'd assume most fighters are sleeping. I've heard both Tyson & Mayweather say stuff like that.

    It's more of a personal mental edge for Floyd, when he does it (I think, anyway). Hence the "when you're sleepin', I'm workin'. When your workin', I'm workin' too" quote.

    Yea...I think it's more mental than anything. Mayweather is a great fighter because he's adaptable and he trains that way as well.

    Thats what i would say , ive heard that a few places , be out training while the other guy is snoozing

    But i assume it being quiter , less traffic , cooler would all be good reasons

    Bingo. I wouldn't say there's any 'best time' to run, just when you feel most comfortable doing it. When it's quiet and cool it's gonna suit most people.

    plus if u run early give you more of a rest if you train later in the day at the gym or whatever

    if you train twice a day,its usefull to run very early,go home and rest and sleep get up hours later eat, and getting ready to go to the gym.
    I think thats the main reason...

    its alot of things really, but most of all the mental edge gives u that confidence that ur workin ur butt off and ur opponent is all comfortable sleepijng.
    also u become more fitter as its harder to run at that time in the morning than in the middle of the day

    What ever you thinks work. My personal reason is it is a waste of time. get a full sleep. Do the roadwork around 7am,after a good 8 hours sleep.

    You wont have eaten so your body doesnt depend on food for energy but on stored fat.
    Your body sets the tone of metabolism,even when you go back to sleep it will continue burning fat so the weight lost is more.
    The air will be cleaner at that time because of less cars.
    It's easier to run then because of less distructions
    Anonimity,no one sees you and no one asks for autographs.
    It increases your sex drive,after the shower you can bang the missus like you are drill,testesterone levels will be up the roof
