I actually had Kotlenik winning a squeaker over Maidana, but I wouldn't have quarrelled with a draw.

Moreover, what a lot of these Limeys fail to cite is that Kot ate a few bombs that bout enroute to the decision. Can Khan do the same? Therein lies the question. :hat

I havent seen many Maidana hype posts on here :huh

Kotelnik has a damn ironchin. i highly doubt any other 140lbs fighter out there can take such shots Kotelnik took in that in fight. alone the shots Kotelnik took in round 9 would have murdered most. He countered Maidana well on occasion but he didnt outbox him like many say on here.
Khan however is clearly the way better boxer hard to hit much faster and on completely different skill level. Maidanas only chance is to fire all night long without any compromise and no matter what. thats not easy since he will cut the air most and look bad but if he can keep the pressure up i feel theres a fair chance he KTFOs Khan. Maidana fired a lot on Kotelnik but Kotelnik was a steady target and a lot of other fights have failed in such situations when they suddenly face some slick opponents such as Abraham or Pavlik however based on the Ortiz fight i feel Maidana can go through this Id really looking forward to see that fight happen..

That's not the question at all. Khan almost certainly can't take them. The question is whether Maidana can actually land anything.

More to the point can Maidana take anything? Khan won't quit like Ortiz.

Maidana after 3 rounds will know he's in with a fighter superior to him in every department and will become desperate and dis couraged , Khan is no light puncher himself and its not beyond the realms of possibility that Khan KO's Maidana early on IMO , i like your thread it rings true mostly , but i think your looking past Maidana's " variety of technical floors " too easily when talking about fighting Khan , the one thing Khan has drastically improved on since moving to the wild card is his ring craft , and that can only be contributed to the level of sparring he's getting , and i look at Maidana and i think God help your ass when you fight the big dogs @40 !!!!!

Since when did Khan become the most agile, elusive defense fighter on the planet?? Is he easy to hit per say? No, I wouldn't say that. However, did I miss the part when Khan morphed into Sweet Pea?

Khan's greatest asset is his offense. He has tremendous velocity on his punches, excellent accuracy, and more than enough pop to hurt.

However, if you don't think he's going to fight more cautiously-- ie reigning in some of his offensive aresenal for the purposes of a tigher defense-- against Maidana than against Paulie, you are sadly mistaken. Khan will adopt a safety first mentality.

People fall in love with a puncher. He needs a jab and some footwork, but he is fun to watch. Not every guy has to be an all time great. A lot of my favorite fighters to watch weren't.

How can I argue with you when you go back and edit all of your posts after you see my rebuttal? What type of **** is that?!

Why should I waste my time explaining **** to somebody clearly in over their head in the discussion?

    I'm done with you. :hi:

    Cheers, brother!

With respect to your post, I think Maidana will be fully cognizant of the fact that Khan is a superior fighter before he laces them up and steps into the ring. After all, Maidana--the last time I checked-- has a pair of eyes, no?

On the other hand, Maidana will also be intimately aware of Khan's chin issues and his desire to protect that chin from unwarranted challenges. Furthermore, that coupled with the fact that he knows damn well that he hits harder than Khan makes him a very dangerous opponent indeed.

The Khan folks understand as much, which is why they are in no hurry to face Maidana in the ring.
