Why not throw Khan in with Alexander now?

If Khan really does have no chin, there really isn't anything he can do about it aside from what he's doing right now, which is keeping his hands up, and utilizing his tallent to keep his opponents at range.

It's not like Alexander has a significant size advantage. In fact he doesn't have one at all. They have the same reach, but Khan is about 3 inches taller.

Alexander isn't as slick as people make him out to be. He's a mid range fighter, that often leans into his punches and honestly aside from a few viscious body punches Urango landed on Hatton in the 5th round, he got tagged more against Urango than both Hatton and Berto.

Alexander does appear to have a good chin though, and he obviously has speed and power.

Honestly though, I think Khan may be a hair faster, and his combinations are just as fluid, and his defense is better. Khan doesn't lean into his punches, and Alexander hasn't really shown much ability to fight on the inside like Bradley and even Peterson have shown.

If Khan is gonna get knocked out, he's gonna get knocked out. He might as well take Alexander on now than later when Alexander may improve.

If Khan doesn't get caught, I think he has a very legitimate chance to win this fight on the cards.

Are any Alexander fights online? I've never seen any of his matches, I've only seen a clip of him against Urango. From what I could tell, he looks too dangerous for Khan at the moment -- decent guard, good timing, reach, height, speed, power, quite compact shots, etc. I'd need to see a full fight of his to really evaluate him properly, though.

Khan should fight Maidana and Ortiz first, and then think about Bradley and Alexander. I don't agree that 'if he's gonna get knocked out, he's gonna get knocked out'. More time means more training and experience, and those two (especially when Roach is concerned) should equal gradual improvements, such as in defence, to help Khan shield his chin. The more time he takes the better.

Alexander is good overall and has long arms so he would connect to Khans chin for sure.
    mismatch..:D

I think the main difference will be Khan's corner...Roach will have a solid gameplan, if Khan follows through, I think he'll get an easy win

Alexander would definitely land on Kahn, and while he may be a little green, I don't think Kahn is durable enough to beat him.

Some of you guys make it sound like Khan is going to get knocked out with any punch that lands, although I agree he has a bad chin, should be noted he had trouble making 135, which can have an effect on punch resistance, was caught cold, running onto some mighty shots.

He was hurt by a jab, not a mighty shot.

Although i do agree, he was weight drained at 135 and that was a major reason he got KO'ed IMO. So far he hasnt really been caught at 140 so a lot of people are in the dark as to whether his chin is any better now than a few years ago

Sorry mate, I would have to disagree with you on nearly everything.

Khan is the one who tends to lean when launching his right hand, and putting himself in a perfect position to be countered. A deadly mistake against a guy like Alexander, who from a southpaw stance and speed of his own, will capitalize on such an opportunity.

Simply put, Khan isn't ready for Alexander yet. Give him a year or two more under the guidance of Roach, and by then he will have ironed out all the deficiencies he currently possesses. He's the got the potential to be something special, so there really is no need to rush him in to a bad match-up and dent his development.

Khan doesn't want to fight Alexander. He just like Bradley don't want to fight him it's that simple.

i think alexander would have a field day w/ khan's european stance. plus khan falls off balance alot when he tries to load up on shots. paulie's inability to hurt him made khan brave and take more chances. against alex, i think he may think too much and let alex get inside and do some damage.

It all comes down to money. Kahn will get more dough fighting Diaz or Katsidis than Alexander with less chance of losing. If Alexander keeps knocking people out and builds up his name, the fight between the two will be that much bigger.

How many boxers at 23 fight the top guy as soon as they get 1 big win, co'mon man. He deserves to make some $ before gets gets in there w/ a lion like alexander. Nobody is sayin it but I think Khan should fight Urango. Urango will bull forward and his power will def test Khan's chin. This will give a common opponent to compare the two. It's not like I don't wanna see them fight right away, but it's just not how boxing works unfortunately.
