He just announced that he intends on dropping down to fight Danny Green for his title. Now regardless of weather he deserves the shot or not do you think this is a good move for him??

I am bias and want all kiwis to do well but I think it is a good move for him and that he will be much more competitive on a world scale but I am after an unbiased opinion

Who is Cameron? Is he the guy that Tua beat-up? Didn't a former HW moved down recently and fought for the CW too and lost badly? If you have a lot of fat to burn off then it is okay, but if your burning muscle forget about it. If it is the same Cameron I think it is, he has a very muscle build.

Lol so he is not particularly well known ill give you that. Yea he is the guy Tua beat up but not the only guy Tua has ever beat on. he doesnt have a lot of fat to lose but he was never that heavy ether.

I think if he can get down he would go ok. he has descent speed not great but ok and if he maintains most of his power although he is bound to loss some then he may at least have a chance against the likes of green. He is just to small and not good enough for heavyweight

Brian Minto comes to mind. If you look at it this way, a good small fighter will beat a big less talented fighter. Some of these CW champs would do okay at HW. Adamek and Haye come to mind. If say Chambers lost weight and moved down to CW, that would be different. He is very talented.

I think it's a good move, as it was for Minto (even though he lost to Huck).

Shane is a better boxer than Brian and will have more things to offer at CW; he can impose his size and strength and stay behind his long jab. I see him being able to beat a Maccarinelli type, although I'm not sure about his chances against the very best until we can see him wet his feet and show how he wears the lighter frame.

I think dropping the weight will assist him, he'll be better off with his fitness, his height will be better suited to the weight. He was quite a big puncher at HW but just didn't have the required chin.

I think in the current landscape at CW, he could do some damage.

Judging him on the loss against Friday means more than the loss against Tua in my view. Tua has spanked guys like John Ruiz and Michael Moorer out early, if he hits early, you go down and out early.

As far as NZ boxing goes I am quite excited to see how he does. At least he has a chance there he had no chance really at heavyweight but like has been said the Tua loss can't be taken into account to heavily Tua hits hard

He got blasted by a 50 year old David Tua, so no. But for the Money this was probably the best move for Danny Green.

Doesn't Cameron usually weigh about 230? Can he burn of 30lbs of fat? He doesn't look to tubby to me.

If he can burn of the weight without detriment to his stanima or chin like we saw with Jones and Byrd then it will be better for his career. Cameron was probably just a little to small for the world class big guys plus he isn't to skillful so going down to CW may help as he should have a strength and power advantage over a lot of CW's.

I hope he can comfortably make CW because a Cameron-Green fight would be very entertaining.

The history of men moving down in weight to fight is not good especially at heavyweight. I can't think of any fighter that has done it successfully. The two most prominent heavyweights to do it Leon Spinks and Chris Byrd were both knocked out when they moved down in weight.

I think Cameron's best move is to stay at heavy. Rebuild his career, build up his skills and conditioning, and take another step up when the time is right.

If he is unaffected thats great...but 13 kgs is a lot of weight. This isnt a guy who was coming into fights with a gut or a lot of excess poundage. He always looked like a fit and muscular looking fighter in the fights Ive seen of him.

But power to him if he can make the weight without any adverse effects.

What did he weight in at or Tua?

I know it was pretty light, but he was in excellent cosmetic shape, meaning that he would be putting a lot of fat in the oven.

    That is downright dangerous.

He'll end up with an eating disorder to boot.
