I would run at 3am but all the drunks from the local bars and clubs might run me over. I wait 5am to run.
I personally like running when it's cold while everyone else is sleeping. feels like i can go for an extra mile or two.
It's physiology, you can't really dispute it. Alot of old timers did well in spite of their training, not because of it. And dude whats with the naked teenage boy avatar? I don't care if you lost a bet, change that **** please
It is what many of you are saying. More relaxing and the air is fresh and you start the day moving around getting your body ready for more exersize.
Because it in no way mimics the demands placed upon the body during an actual fight. Sprinting up a hill then jogging back down again is fine, but I assume the OP was refering to 'roadwork' which generally means just jogging at the same pace for mile after mile. Skipping is also pretty much a waste of time. Time which could be much more productively spent. Joe Calzaghe never skipped. Regarding an increase in metabolism to assist in fat loss, then yes, excerise before breakfast is the most effective way to go, but there are plenty of BOXING SPECIFIC excercises that can be done which are superior to mindless jogging. If a fighter trains hard enough and is careful with his diet, the need for jogging to lose weight is eliminated
you my friend are wrongggggggggggggggg.. running miles builts up endurance,, and that's the main idea behind running long distances for boxers to build up your cardivascular endurance.. of course you dont have to run a lot of miles everyday you could do repetitions, intervals and other things... but you have to put in the miles if you want to last in a 12rd boxing fight.. :hat
