pac was throwing combos on clottey even if they didnt all connect its still more entertaining then floyds boring one punch at a time pot shots. Floyds become a bit slower now and easier to hit with bombs like the one mosley almost decapitated floyd with.
I don't know about those stats....I watched the fight and it looked like Pac was hitting arms and gloves, although he did land some hard bodyshots. Floyd was landing crisp, head snapping jabs and right hands on Mosley.
Actually, the idea of a catchweight is not to gain an advantage but rather to level the playing field so that the smaller fighter is not at a disadvantange. If I'm a small 140lb fighter and I fight a WW at 147lbs, then I'm at a disadvantage. If I'm a small 140lb fighter and I fight a WW at a catchweight, then its a fair fight.
The first fight was good, but a second one would be almost as pointless as a thrid between Jones and Hopkins.
Those are the official punch stats. Pac landed more punches on Clottey than Mayweather landed on Mosley. That's not counting all the punches that hit Clottey's guard Also, I'm not one of those fans who thinks body shots don't count. Although they have less of a WOW effect on the casual fans, a well placed bodyshot can be just as brutal as a head snapping punch.
I would pay TOP Dollar to See Pacquiao face Bradley or Alexander than Foreman or Margarito....ANY DAY OF THE F***ING WEEK!!!!!
there are much more cases of small fighters going up that proves it is as hard if nor much more difficult tahn going down. penalosa-lopez, gomez-sanchez and even ray robinsaon suffered the faith of a small man fighting a much bigger opponent in maxim. it is much difficult for these smaller fighters to fill-up the necessary mass or bridge the pwer gap and the punch resistance needed against bigger opponents of equal skill. it is just that floyd and pac are such great fighters that they can beat guys much bigger than them.
I think Manny has no business fighting anyone else except Floyd. Period. No way in hell does Margarito deserve a shot against Pacquiao. I love Cotto, he is my favorite fighter, but he should not get in the ring with Pacquiao again. Foreman is the absolute weakest champion at 154 lbs, so absolutely no interest there. If Pacquiao vs Mayweather does not happen, then I would not mind seeing Pacquiao against Alexander or Bradley and Floyd can go fight Martinez or Williams. However, none of these match ups are what the fight fans want. We want Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. We want the best fighting the best. If the fight doesn't happen, that is just one more reason for people to watch MMA.
If they can't make the Mayweather fight then I personally would like to see Mayweather v Martinez because the middleweight belt is something Mayweather could really get motivated for and it would be a serious challenge for him in my opinion and depending on if Cotto looks reborn against foreman a Pac v Cotto rematch would be of interest to me as a Cotto fan but I could see how some would disagree.
Why do I need to? One fight was better with better shots landed throughout the fight while the other was a snoozefest. What percentage did Pac land at again?
