when Tyson started out, would Haye also have been considered an ATG, or would the lack of competition then have worked against him?

Tyson and Haye are very alike, not huge HW's, very fast, big hitters (Haye probably hits harder) though we did see Haye isn't as 1 dimensional as Tyson when he beat up Valuev, so its safe to say, Haye would have walked through those fights like Tyson did, but as he is British, which does count against you in the ATG category, would he still be talked about, or would he be considred another Holyfield?

No, Ruddock would have smashed him.

    Lewis did what to Ruddock?

Safe to say if Lewis exposed Ruddocks glass jaw, a Hayemaker would have shattered him too.

So many mistakes in your post that's it's hard to begin...............

Haye does not hit harder than Tyson, let's start there. He doesn't have the same fast hands or combinations that Mike had either.

Holyfield is an ATG no matter how you slice it. Haye would be lucky to even be spoken in the same sentence as either Tyson or Holyfield.

Haye did not beat the crap outta Valuev, the weakest available beltholder at the time. He ran like a *****, pot shotting his way to a slight victory.

Being a Brit fighter doesn't count against Haye either. Ask Lennox Lewis who is considered top a top 5-10 ATG at Heavyweight and a solid top 5 head to head.

Its not fair to compare those too.

HAYE is real deal and TYSON is most overrated fighter ever.

HAYE has great amateur background, and 2 division champ.

TYSON s best win is against ****ing GOLOTA.

Tyson would have decked Haye in 2 Rds top's.
I'm a fan of DH, But I understand and see his flaws.
Tyson's style would defo be of alot of concern.
    (& a "Prime" Tyson @ that.)

WOW Haye is faster than Tyson if anything, Tyson was one dimensional, teh only attribute Tyson had over Haye was a better chin, Hayes speed, footwork and defence is much better, and Haye has a much higher KO ratio, safe to say he hits harder.

Haye shattered his hand against Valuev,he still rocked his socks and sent him to dizzyville with a broken hand.

Holyfield is a great fighter, sadly his reputation has been stained by match fixing, Haye is still a young man thats accomplishing all his goals, had he been American, I'd say he would be a certainty for ATG status, being British means he has to go above and beyond what most boxers have to in order to reach atg status.

A Ruddock that got brutally beaten twice by Tyson and said himself that he wasn't the same. That, and Lewis and some of those shots looked close to the back of the head.

Rick Hatton's jaw looked liked glass after Floyd got done with it. And hey, maybe Tszyu landing some shots on him didn't do any favors long-term. Unless you just want to call it glass too. It's not exactly like Floyd is a Super Puncher.

Either way, Haye is not Lennox Lewis. The only thing you can say that Haye can stand with Lewis is with his power. Other than that...just NO.

    Tucker would beat David Haye.

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Biggs did. Or Bone Crusher.

Did you see who Haye has lost to already?

Yeah Tyson did fight a lot of washed up men, his resume is pretty shitty when analysed, Hayes win over Ruiz is probably level with Tysons best win.
