I was jus thinking why Khan gets all the criticism for not fighting Alexander, Bradley or Maidana next and instead going to fight either Prescott or Katsidis in July??

Alexander is looking to fight Kotelnik or Prescott next why does he not have the pressure to fight Bradley or Khan?

Bradley is fighting Abregu next that says it all about him.

Maidana is crying over his back injury so Khan can't fight him even if he wants to.

So to me it seems like Khan HAS to fight all these guys but the top 140lbs can fight the worst opposition they want. To be honest it seems the pressure on Khan is far greater than the rest of them.

I agree Khan has to still prove himself at 140lbs but he doesnt have to do it instantly, he is in the right direction and I am sure he will fight as many top 140lbs fighters as he can but I think people just want him to jump into fights and see him lose. All i'm saying is the rest of the fighters are not gonna retire anytime soon or go past their peak so hold your horses and lets see what happens!!!!

    Rant over!!!!

I think its a tad too early for us to be criticizing him for being selective.. He's 23 years old, has less than 25 fights, just fought his first fight in America, and suffered a bad loss not too terribly long ago. If he continues to look impressive, the fights will come..

are you suggesting he should have 3 fights lined up back to back
.. all with the top contenders or at least champions?

I have to salute the topic starter, well said there! perfectly reasonable post for a change, regarding Khan. There is no rush. The guy has won a world strap up at a higher weight class than what he started out in and defended it twice, the last against Malignaggi in the US. He's so far delivering at 140, so why don't we just wait and see?

Hey if he fights 1 opponent, thats not so obviously carefully selected, most of the criticism will go away.

    Whats the problem here

Khan, Alexander, Bradley won't be put in with each other anytime soon. I guarantee that. HBO don't want them fights to happen right now.

All three of the top guys at 140 could do with some more fights under their belt, Khan in particular whos resume isn't quite as good as the other two.

On the other hand, they could always have these fights against each other.

I think people put too much emphasis on undefeated records nowadays.

Guys like Mosley, DLH and Tito just went for the big fights, regardless of how risky they were. Sure, they have losses on their records, but they're remembered for the big fights they were in and rated higher than guys who might have not lost as many as them, but definitely didn't have as many big fights either.

i think theyre gonna take thier time with him, HBO doesnt seem to want great evenly matched fights they want to see one specific guy win.

And 1 was his WBA Mandatory ;)

  15. The guy has had like 3 fights at 140, lol jeez.

I think he's taking the right direction 100% if he fights Katsidis and Prescott next, in whichever order. He has a brutal loss to avenge, and Katsidis looms as a tough test and a pretty big money fight in the UK. Alexander and Bradley have other things to do right now, let those fights simmer a bit and we'll get some blockbusters with Khan vs. Alexander, Khan vs. Bradley, Bradley vs. Alexander next year or the year after...
